  Axle's POV   I stood there in the hallway, watching her carefully guide Liam back to his room.   The boy followed docilely, still lost in whatever dream his mind was weaving, his small feet dragging softly against the floor. "Mommy, please don't leave me…" he mumbled, voice fragile in his half-sleeping state.   My chest tightened.   "I won't, sweetheart," Narda whispered gently, her voice carrying that natural softness I'd only ever heard mothers use. "I'm right here with you."   She led him into his room, tucking him back into bed with hands so sure, so practiced, it was like she'd done it a hundred times before. She smoothed his hair back, humming softly under her breath, and sat down beside him, staying there until his breathing evened out and the little tension in his body melte
