The frantic nurse skidded into my room. Apparently, my desperate scream had alerted her that I was awake.
Quickly assessing the situation, she jogged to my bedside and checked my vitals. “Well, Sleeping Beauty decided to wake up, huh?” Her eyes crinkled at the corners when she smiled, somehow making her already pretty face look even more charming.
“Who are you?” I asked, probably sounding rude, but beyond caring.
“My name is Sharisse, and I’m your nurse. I’ve spent my entire shift popping in periodically to check on you and hoping you would wake up.” Her bright smile lit up her face, and the smattering of freckles across her nose made her look younger than she probably was.
This woman was completely different than the frumpy grouch I was used to seeing. I shook my head in confusion
