The confrontation

663 Words
The sun shone brightly outside the apartment and Mandy was holding a cup of coffee on her hand, starring at Josh wondering how to start the conversation. It had been days since she noticed that something was wrong with the way he made love to her and how his friends keep avoiding her, the truth of the matter is he rarely visits her or spends the night now it's just plain forced s*x. "It is going to be a cold night, can you stay?" she finally broke the awkward silence that wanted to crush her. "Josh! for God's sake spill the beens already, something is wrong with you, even your friends don't talk to me anymore." "Well it's not like you're dating them, why should they be obliged to talk to you Mareddeth?" she froze. They had been together for two years but he never spoke to her with these tone. Has the university changed him that much? "if....." "let's get this over Mareddeth, even s*x is unpleasurable with you" HE cut her words short as he stood up and walked towards her. To tell the truth she felt intimidated by his close proximity than hurt by the words he said, if anyone would have told her it would end like this she would have laughed out loud. He curled strings of her hair with his fingers, he looked straight into her eyes "I don't think you understand how far this has gone and it needs to end now!" "What are you talking about?" she managed to whisper, her strength draining from just his cold stare. She had promised herself that she wouldn't be the one crumbling now she was even trembling with tears streaming down her cheeks. Looking at the man she fell in love with she realised that only fear resided in her heart not love. What has become of her perfect love story? of the man who used to be her shield against the world? "what happened to you Joshua, to us?" she asked, lifting her hand to touch his face and try to remind him of the love they once shared but she only made his bitterness worse. It had been days since he arrived in Seattle to be with his husband Joshua Spark, truth be told he was curious to where he always went off in secret but never had the courage to ask him assuming the arranged marriage between them was unsettling for him. He preferred to let sleeping dogs lie. A car pulled up the drive way while he was still in his thoughts, a knock by the door brought him back from his thoughts. Opening the door to see Josh standing there with messy hair and red face, he moved aside to let him in but soon noticed he did not have his ring on. Phil's heart raced faster as he realised where his husband had been going this few days, tears clouded his eyes. It had only been days since their marriage and he was already cheating! the truth was the hardest pill to swallow so he pretended not to notice. "where you with your friends? You look exhausted." trying to sound normal but his hitched breath gave him away. "No!" upfront and curt was the reply making his stomach churn in pain and the lump in his throat threatened to tear him apart. Joshua set down and sighed while brushing his hair with his hand when he noticed that he forgot to wear his ring. The question was rhetorical, he realised to his luck. He could not take his mind off the way Mandy had slept her, it was too quick and calculated like she had wanted to do that for a long time. He couldn't blame her things ended horribly between them but it was that or his father would take over. Now looking at the cute and innocent men in front of him he wondered where to start, he sighed heavily.
