The grand mansion of the Mehra family, the place covered with greenery and things that speak of wealth and power the possess.Huge extravagant ballroom where laughter and music intertwined in an elegant way. It was the night of Ajay Mehra's birthday party, where every businessman, politician and others were invited. While Ajay’s sharp gaze scanned the room. Ajay had a reputation for being severe. He wore it with the same ease and purpose as someone wearing a high-end suit, and his presence demanded respect. He was a man of few words who preferred action to friendly talk. His manner frequently left others perplexed, but he was largely unaffected; after all, his family's wealth gave him both power and independence. Then came Kavya Sharma, who stood in sharp contrast to Ajay's commanding demeanor. She moved through the halls of that high-society party with the grace of simplicity. Kavya went shyly among the visitors, her eyes sparkling with unadulterated excitement, wearing a beautiful blue outfit that highlighted her delicate figure. She was a typical twenty-three-year-old girl whose genuineness was what made her so appealing. She was the mastermind behind Ajay's crazy world as his assistant, running his calendar and the little things in his life that were too hectic for him to understand. That night, however, something shifted. Two different Worlds collided. The Mehra family, who had always treated Kavya as one of their own, began to notice her in a new light, in new way. Ajay's father, Mr. Mehra, a gentleman with a heart full of life, leaned into his wife, as they observed Kavya drifting past them, smiling while lighting up the place. “Anita,” he murmured, “don’t you think Kavya would make a splendid match for our son?” Mrs. Mehra raised an eyebrow, her smile betraying her thoughtful consideration. “Ajay is not like other boys, Vikram. He is… difficult. Rigid. Do you think Kavya can handle that?” Mr. Mehra chuckled softly, tracing a finger over the rim of his glass. “Kavya is so different from him. She represents light and warmth; she could melt that frostiest exterior of his.” As they spoke, Ajay stood across the room, watching Kavya, she is the epitome of simplicity and natural beauty. He felt an unfamiliar tension tighten his chest, a mix of admiration and anxiety. It was an unusual sensation what he was feeling. But despite both confusion and attraction, he would never show it. After all, Ajay was the type to conceal emotions behind strict boundaries. Later that evening, as guests began to leave, and the music softened to a whisper, Ajay approached Kavya, who was carrying a stack of plates toward the kitchen. “Why are you doing this? There are servants for work,” he said,in his unusual tone. Kavya froze. “Oh, um, No problem, Sir.I can manage.” “That’s not your work to do,” he replied, taking the plates from her hands. Their eyes met briefly, but she couldn't believe he is the same Ajay who scolded her every here and now. Something passed between them, though neither could name it. As the last guest departed, leaving behind echoes of laughter and fading lights, the Mehra family gathered in their living room, the scent of expensive cigars filling the air. Ajay sat on sofa, arms crossed, calm demeanor, though agitation simmered just beneath the surface. “Ajay,” his mother began, breaking through the lull, “we’d like to discuss something important.” The seriousness in her tone turned Ajay's attention. “What is it?” Mr. Mehra exchanged glances with his wife, then spoke, “We believe it’s time for you to consider settling down. There’s someone we had in mind…” Ajay raised an eyebrow, though a part of him knew where this was headed. “And who would that be?” They both hesitated before Mrs. Mehra announced, “Kavya.” A moment of silence overpowering the room, Ajay’s heart pounding in reaction. “Kavya?” he echoed incredulously, his voice unknown of warmth. “She’s just my assistant. This is so wrong to even think about ” “You’re mistaken, son,” Mr. Mehra interjected gently. “Kavya’s got everything you need. She’s kind, intelligent, and all those superficial things that people these days overlook. Moreover she’s the daughter of one of my oldest friend and we know her better.” “Enough,” Ajay snapped, breaking the tension. “I barely know her.” But what Ajay didn't realize was that deep down, he did know her. He watched her every day, admired her innocence and kindness, even when he kept his distance. The thought of marrying her, however, ignited a turmoil inside him — fear mingled with confusion. Meanwhile, in her modest apartment, Kavya was still in thoughts of the day , both thrilled and confused. How could they have suggested such a thing? Ajay was handsome, wealthy — the ideal match, but he was also a bipolar person, sometime he normal and approachable but sometime he is very rude and strict. The next day at work, the air between them was tense. Ajay entered the office, his demeanor colder than usual. Kavya could feel the weight of unspoken words hanging between them as she pretended to type quickly at her desk. “Conference room now,” he commanded, striding towards her. Kavya’s heart quickened; she followed him into the conference room,. “Did you speak to your family about... about what suggested?” he inquired, a sharp icy voice. “I—” she stammered, “I didn’t know they had talked to you.” “They can’t just decide my future,” Ajay spat, his voice seeming harsh in that sunlit room. “I’m not a pawn to be placed in someone else’s game.” “I never asked to be a part of any game, Sir,” she replied gently, her voice steadying. “I know this is complicated; it surprises me too. But I’m not sure where I fit into this.” "They can't simply decide my future," Ajay spat, sounding harsh in the brightly illuminated room. "I refuse to be used as a pawn in another person's game." She steadied her voice and said, "Sir, I never asked to be a part of any game." "This surprises me as well; I know it's complicated. However, I'm unsure about my doing in this. Ajay turned away, staring out the window, the bubbling thoughts in his mind. She was simple, sincere, yet her existence lit a spark in him. “I don’t want a marriage for the sake of family. I refuse to be trapped,” he said quietly, frustration tinging his words. “What if it’s not a trap?” she suggested softly. “What if—” “It doesn’t matter what ‘if.’ I don’t want this,” he interjected, lightly raising his voice. “And I work better without distractions, let’s keep it professional.”Ajay can clearly see her eyes glistening. Kavya felt the sting of his words. Instead of ignoring ,sadness washed over her. She nodded, eyes glistening. “Of course. I understand.” Without another glance, Ajay left the room, his mind racing. He didn’t want her as his life partner because she isn't compatible with him.He returned to his office, he realized that the wooden walls and the structured chaos of his life had been unbearable. He know that his family and friend aryan will leave no chance to blackmail him to get married. He was irritated beyond moon.Kavya, who get scared with little thing can't walk with him in his difficult life, he had many business rival's who can go to any extent to back him.
