For two days, I ignored Asher’s calls and texts. It killed me, but I had to drag myself out of the hole I had found myself in once again after he had said those words to me.
‘Says the woman who doesn’t have any kids.’
My gut clenched as his voice repeated the words over and over again in my head. My relationship with Ash felt delicate, but today, I made a decision to go see him. I was still concerned about his behaviour and attitude from the other night, but I had to at least understand. I could handle it; Whether I was able to handle myself was another matter entirely. I’d barely stopped crying before I pulled myself out of the front door this morning.
