His eyes scanned over the girl next to him. She was finally asleep after tossing and turning for hours. She had a lot weighing on her mind after all.
Nicholas climbed out of bed, making sure Faye was still comfortably tucked under the covers.
He left their room, locking the door behind him before making his way outside.
The village was silent, save for the odd owl hooting in the distance. This village was different from others, he had realised it the moment he stepped foot here. Seeing her only confirmed his suspicions.
