He could see all the anger and pain swimming around in them and no matter how hard he tried he could not ignore it. She breathed unevenly, her glaring eyes unable to leave his. His hand tightened on the door handle, only releasing the pressure when he heard it creak. There was a storm in his mind that he was relentlessly keeping at bay, words on the tip of his tongue that he had to bite down on. Aware of how close he was to breaking he slammed the door shut, turning the lock. He heard her rushed steps as she slammed against the door, her fists pounding against the wood helplessly.
