Chapter Seven: Dinner with Bella's

I walked towards the chair, swaying my hips with every step before halting in front of my chair. He didn't lift a finger, staring at me with a smirk on his lips. After a few seconds, he snapped his fingers, and a man in a suit walked in, drawing the chair for me to sit down on. “Did you enjoy your bath?” He asked as I adjusted into the chair. “Very much.” He chuckled before adjusting into an upright position. The silent atmosphere of the room increased the tension, and I felt irritated by the smug look on his face. “Are we going to eat or are you going to stare at me all day?” “What's the rush?” He held up a straight face, spinning the knife in his hand like a maniac. “There's a lot to discuss.” “I have nothing to say to you.” “The CEO of Bella Corporation will be having dinner with us tonight. You need to be on your best behavior and not piss him off.” So the roses weren't for me? What expectations did I set for such a demon? “Are you pleading? Is this an obligation?” I raised my eyebrow as I stared at his straight face. “I don't plead.” A smile curled onto his face. “You don't have a choice either way.” “What makes you think I can't walk out of this mansion anytime I want?” I inquired He raised his eyebrow; his hand stopped spinning the knife, leaving it to strike the table and stand like a threat. “Do we have to check it out?” “Maybe we will.” I couldn't back down now. A guard in a red overall suit marched in, a revolver lying in his right hand. He c****d the gun before Dylan, a stern look on his face. “The CEO of Bella Corporation has arrived.” The man said as he placed the revolver on Dylan's head, his trigger finger slowly approaching the trigger. I couldn't understand what was going on. Was this a procedure, or was he really going to be killed by this guard in a red suit? “What conditions have to be met?” Dylan asked, his gaze lingering on my face. “You have to make his wife happy and ensure that he seals the billion-dollar texture deal for our gaming merch this summer.” “Is the gun necessary?” I blurted out. The thought of having to stare at him with a gun to his head made me uncomfortable. What if a fight breaks out and he loses control and I get hit by a bullet? Did everything have to be dangerous before these men? “You don't get to speak to me, peasant!” The man spoke. “What did you just say?” I raised my eyebrows, holding back my rage as I clutched the fork in my hand. “Piero, she's currently my wife.” Dylan's gaze grew darker. “You don't have the right to speak to her.” “But young master…” “Did I ask you to speak?” Dylan's hand found Piero’s neck, veins slowly emerging as he tightened his grip. “Must you be aggressive?” “Darling, you don't have to be worried. I want to teach him some manners.” The rings on Dylan's hair began to make low metallic sounds, making the atmosphere in the room quite dreadful. “I'm sorry ma…” Piero’s face grew pale as his grip on the revolver loosened. “Stop! You have a visitor.” I yelled. His grip on Piero loosened, and his hand moved towards the revolver that sat pretty on the table. Piero held his neck as the color slowly returned to his face. “Let them in.” Dinner with the CEO of Bella Corporation was held in another of the main dining rooms. The room was filled with foreign scents, Italian foods, and other cuisines that I could only dream about. The chefs stood by the sides of the table, helping everyone to take their seats and feel comfortable before they started the final stages of the meal. This was the first time I realized that the chefs in the Salvatore mansion were on a whole other level. Not only could they move fire with their hands without it burning them, but they could chop things so little without chopping their fingers off mistakenly. That had to be a gift, if you ask me. “So Mrs Salvatore, what exactly did you see in Little Rage over here?” The room went silent, and I waited for a response from the other lady. It was when Dylan patted my thigh lightly that I remembered that I was to play the role of Mrs Salvatore, or at least I was till the contract ended. “Oh, he's a little rage,” I teased Dylan, who was trying to keep a straight face. “Dylan is a man of imperfections, and to be honest, I never thought we would end up together, but look where we are. He not only knows how to charm a woman, but he is caring at the very least; that is what I look for in a man.” A wave of laughter erupted, sending the dining room into a frenzy before the atmosphere calmed down. The CEO of Bella Corporation and his wife had laughed so hard that tears could be seen trying to leave their eyes. “Little rage is caring?” Mr Bella chuckled. “This little brat doesn't have a shred of emotion in his heart.” “Trust me, darling, we wouldn't judge you if you are doing this for money. We all know that he couldn't care any less about a lady, given how he threw the mayor's daughter out the window.” Mrs Bella added. “He threw the Mayor's daughter out the window?” “Yeah, he swung her out of here when she refused to pack her bags. Though she survived the fall and filed for numerous lawsuits after.” I turned to look at the man next to me, who didn't seem a bit surprised by the claims placed on him. If he could throw the mayor's daughter out of the window without a care in the world, then he could kill me, and there wouldn't be any lawsuit. “The mayor's daughter was arrogant, foolish, and rude. She wasn't fit to be seen near me, and the mayor knows that.” “What makes this darling over here the right fit?” Mrs Bella asked, her arms folded as she became stiff in the chair. Dylan didn't answer immediately. Instead, he reached for his glass of wine and took a slow sip, his unreadable eyes fixed on me. “She's nothing as you have ever seen.”
