Bloodlust in the cold

1881 Words
The night advances as the sky grows heavy on the land. The light is starting to fade slowly away from their eyesight. Amadeus finds himself alone in the woods as the darkened clouds basked over him. The snow that slowly falls from the sky caresses his dark hair, his nose, his steel pauldron that grew colder.  Standing steadily with a night-blooming flower in his hands as the cold embraces his body. He decided to put the flower in his heart tucking it on his chest beneath his fitted leather armor.  'For what am I here? Why do I need to do this? They're not important to me. I have found my home, my warmth,' he thought as he embraced the cold stillness. His eyes were closed as he listened thoroughly to his surroundings. Hearing a hint breathing of a dozen people advancing towards where he stands. He opens his eyes gazing at the azure temperature, the chilled trees, roots, and the snowbed.  A heavy clang as he unsheathed his sword, piercing it to the snowy ground, locking with the roots below. Lifting his long and sharp axe as he started to smell his prey. A dozen mercenaries of Vaxia guise as a bandit, sprinting on the dense snow as they push down the white lands upon seeing him. The man that only seeks a home, a place to live in for the rest of his life which fate refuses to grant him. A home that only holds happiness, care, love as they eat together. 'That's right I have vowed to them. I made a promise and I will see this through,' he thought as he breathed deeply. With the bandit's axe raised he charged in! Towards the unmoving hunter in the cold. His years of experience, his companion, and the thought of having an advantage against a lone defender, grants him the utmost confidence. “Why are you out here alone in the cold? Fool!” he said as smirked. Underneath his helmet is a fiery eye ready to kill for what he was ordered. Clenching his teeth as he strikes his axe at the hunter in his front.  “What!?”  The bandit only manages to hurt his phantom that reveals to be snowy air. His body slowly falls to the ground as he loses control. Banging his body and jaw on the dense surface of snow along with his helmet that detaches from his fall as it stumbles nearby. Hearing a menacing breathing behind him, he instinctively shrieked. “I'm here to hunt!” Amadeus said simply. Hacking his long axe at the bandit's head thwacking his skull open, followed by a quick heavy grunt as the bandit's life escapes. Resting his long axe at the man's skull as the blood drips and wanders close by. More of his friends followed and charged towards him.  Amadeus seized the resting steel longsword using both of his hands. Clutching the longsword tightly while on his back heaving it quickly as he turns around. Spitting out some of the snow from the ground as it blocks the bandits' view from the sudden snow dust. Preventing them to see what's about to come. Striking at an angle to his front he drives his blade with an incredible speed as if the time has stopped from his attack. Before they could even blink completely, swift and very loud sharp clunks from clashing with their weapons. A pile of snow pushes out to the side from the speed of its wake. With his blade reaching his last target, he rested his still twitching heated longsword to the ground from the immense impact. Melting some of the snow from the hot steel blade and blood. He breaths in the cold tainted air mixed with the gushing of blood as it spewed out in the snowy plains. Painting the land with the blood and flesh of his enemies. The unfortunate bandits quickly suffered tremendous wounds that led to their death.  Starting from the right as the blade cuts his waist clashing on his mace. Hitting the next one from his torso slicing him in between. Through the third reaching his precious head, beheading him in a matter of seconds. Amadeus struck them like they are paper with his monstrous strength and speed that can be seen clearly on his burning ember eyes. The hunter with an eye of a beast enjoying his time as he gets excited about his next kill.  “What the f*ck is this? This is so unreal! How could he possibly do that!”  “God damn, he killed four of us already in less than a minute!” The rest of the bandits stand in awe from what they witness. While the snow continued to fall through his cold body, Amadeus locked eyes at his target, glimpsing the fright in their eyes he smiled widely as he breathed out vapor of cold air. Dashing with an immense speed, the bandit stands frozen and frightened. Separating some of the blood through the air, that spattered to his face and steel armors. With his longsword in a thrusting position, quickly digging the longsword to the torso of the frightened bandit. The bandit's flesh hissed from the slight burnt of his heated longsword released from the marveling speed of his strike. Easily slashing his heart out of his body as he falls to the ground with a frozen terror left on his face. “More! MORE!” Amadeus yelled. He flicks his longsword to the air causing the blood to line out in the snow as well as removing the attached pieces of furs and leathers from the bandit's armor. A bloodlust in his eyes as he raised his longsword greatly in the air with his right hand. Glaring at the rest of the bandits that quickly send all of them fleeing as they scream for their lives. “It's a god-damn demon! We are getting massacred out here!” “Just run! Keep on running and don't look back!” Amadeus rapidly sprints his light body gushing a smoke of snow from his wake. Chasing them down with a delighted face. “Where are you all going?” Amadeus uttered at the bandits' back. Upon getting close he plunges his body into the air as he spins sideways with his right hand clutching the longsword. Striking a hard blow as he nails the unfortunate bandit's head. Clanging on the metal helm before it went through, slicing down to his thigh tearing his body in half.  A sprint gush of blood was soon followed, spraying everywhere. Coating most of the blood to Amadeus' armor and exposed face, who stand steadily basking from their fear. 'You are loving this, don't you?' a voice in his head. “YEAH!” Amadeus straightly let out. With every voice he let out it furtherly frightens his fleeing prey. 'Be careful, Galiet. This feeling of yours is similar to rage,' a voice in his head. 'This is not rage, this is happiness,' he thought. 'You sure hope it is, the last time you rage you have broken something in you, your confidence.' 'I have all the confidence I need. I'm powerful and no one can ever stop me. No one!' “Never again!” he said as he continued his pursuit. —— [ The Longrider house - Basement ] With the help of Fahrer, Hoch tied the unconscious body of Bee and Bold with a sturdy rope on a wooden chair. Removing their weapons as well as their armor, as they face them both to Rollo. “Thank you, Lady Munzen,” Hoch said with contempt. Lady Munzen walks out in the dark, as the one who manipulated them both into breaking into the Longrider house. She slightly bowed as she proceeded to leave the basement avoiding any glimpse of the chained Rollo. “You can go now as well brother, I will follow soon,” Hoch said. Fahrer looked doubtedly at his brother before he uttered a word. “Don't keep us waiting, we have a real fight coming,” Fahrer said. “I will be there,” Hoch said. Fahrer walked out the door and left the basement. “We are finally alone,” Hoch said. With his face bruised, wounded, clawed, and bleeding from all the beating he took. “You have changed! I don't know why. All of you have changed! You love your wife and the old you would do the same thing I did,” Rollo uttered with his breaking voice. “I have changed? I'm the one who has changed why you mercilessly stab my wife!” Hoch said loudly. “It wasn't her, she's dead, and it was something else in that body. She even struck your arm!” Rollo retorted, coughing in between. Hoch glances at his severed right arm, remembering the event only enrages him more. Grabbing his long axe as he pointed it at Rollo's head. “No! Don't do this! Forgive me! Please don't!” Rollo pleaded. Hoch stands in between Bee and Bold seated in the chair unconscious as he raises his axe in front of Rollo. “Don't do this pa! I don't want to die, and I will have to fight back!” Hoch uttered. “You will PAY!” Hoch yelled. Rollo gathers his courage to accept what's coming. Bracing himself with his eyes closed. Hearing the heavy swings of the axe closing into him.  'I won't harm him! I won't!' Rollo thought. 'Rollo remember!' Ibarra voice in his head. 'No! This is what's right! I decide what's right, and this is! Take it! Take the hit, accept that we live in a cruel fate!' Rollo's mind. 'There's no black nor white, we live in a very grey world.' A metal whoosh as it thwacks in the flesh. Bee spewed blood as he coughs from the mortal wound in his chest. “The… F*ck… is… this?” Bee said as he coughs blood. 'What!?' Rollo opened his eyes, seeing his friend Bee with a grave wound to his chest. Hoch quickly launched another strike, hacking Bold in the same area. Quickly waking Bold as he spitted blood, wandering his eyes looking for his little brother. “Bee…” Bold said as he roughly coughs. “What are you doing to my friends HOCH!” Rollo yelled his heart out. His eyes swollen with uncontrollable tears pouring out. He was a kind man to the eyes of his friend, and they were his friends. “No! Bee! Bold!” Rollo said as he glanced at the brothers as they suffered from the mortal hit they received. “I'll have a surprise for you when you wake up!” Hoch let out. With a confused look, he gazes at Hoch. Hoch flips his axe, inverting it. He quickly delivers a heavy blow to Rollo's head. Striking his temple from the sturdy handle of the axe. His mind quickly loses consciousness, with the chained on his arms preventing him from falling completely to the ground. Sending him to a much kinder place, to his subconscious while his bare body out in the cold as he sways on the chained from his weight.
