I couldn't stop scrolling through my camera roll the entire bus ride home. I zoomed in on every single photo I took of the underground room, trying to look for something – anything. I don't know what I was expecting to find from a photo when I saw the room with my own eyes, but I was hoping that maybe it would give me an answer to the questions running wild in my brain.
I was quiet the entire drive home. I barely spoke to Abby, and if I did, it was short sentences because I wouldn't be paying much attention. If Abby noticed my odd behavior, she didn't say anything, which I'm grateful for. I needed that moment to get swept away in my thoughts after everything I just found.
