With Cameron off to college and Lilly stuck behind for another year, time seemed to stretch. Their communication became limited with their schedules constantly conflicting with each other. There never seemed to be time for anything more than a text here and there. Some times a picture.
Lilly’s job at the grocery store had started on weekends and some nights, eating up any time she had to visit Cameron. She had also been on a few dates with Kyle but anytime it came to being s****l, she froze up. She didn’t feel anything for him nor did she even have the desire to have s*x. At least not until she got home and checked her messages from Cameron.
She finally gained the courage to tell Kyle it wasn’t going to work. He begged her, threatened her, and finally left her alone. She refocused on her school work and her job. The grades would get her into the college and the job was part of the agreement with her mom.
Lilly’s plan was to attend the same college as Cameron, even though she had yet to mention it to him. Part of her wanted it to be a surprise. Her mom and his mom were both proud of her hard work.
Cameron, on the other hand, had caved a few weeks into college with a blonde girl named Courtney. He had instantly regretted it. Finding no satisfaction in it and now creating the problem of her thinking they were dating. No matter what he told her.
He lived in an on campus apartment complex that was set up for students. It had two bedrooms but his roommates never lasted long due to conflicts and he refused to let Courtney stay there. He became a party boy, barely passing his classes and drinking his weekends away.
His new buddies were Jaxon and Aaron, both party-boy-players who came to hang out with him. Jaxon technically lived at home, close to campus, but often crashed on his couch while Aaron rented a studio apartment on the floor above.
Cameron never mentioned Lilly to anyone. He told his buddies he had a best friend back home but never went into details. Even with their distance, he wanted her all to himself. Including memories and stories about her.
Anytime he was with Courtney, he envisioned Lilly. He had even called her name out once or twice and while it had pissed Courtney off, she ignored it and chalked it up to him being too drunk. That had never been the case.
Cameron sat on his couch, a beer in his hand and a baseball game on. Jaxon, Aaron, and Courtney were over. All of them had a beer, or in Courtney’s case a Lime-a-Rita. She was perched next to him and kept trying to touch him or hint to him to go to his room.
“I’ll take you to my room.” Aaron finally butted in, getting annoyed of her notions. “Tie you to my damn bed and leave you there.”
“You couldn’t handle a woman like me.” She shot back.
“I’m sure.” Aaron rolled his eyes and tipped his beer to his mouth.
“I give the best blow jobs.” She blurted out in attempt to boast herself.
“No, she doesn’t.” Cameron mumbled and blocked out Courtney as she attempted to defend herself.
Lilly did. And he hadn’t seen her in almost a year. She had taken up more hours this summer in prep for college. He tried to pry out of her where she was going but she kept it from him, claiming she hadn’t decided yet.
It should have been easy. His college. He wanted her here. He needed her. He saved every picture she sent him and viewed them so often he had them memorized. Her body had changed in the past year. Her curves more defined, her breasts filling out and her ass seemed to have grown as well.
She told him she hadn’t been with anyone since he’d left. It made him feel happy and guilty at the same time. He couldn’t even handle a month without s*x and even though he didn’t enjoy it with someone else he continued.
“Cam.” Courtney cooed in his ear.
“What?” He grumpily responded as he gently pushed her back.
“Come on, baby.” She moaned.
“Are you drunk already? We can all hear you.” Jaxon groaned.
Neither of his friends liked her and had tried helping in getting rid of her but nothing seemed to work.
“Whatever.” She pouted and stood up. “Do you want another beer, Cam?”
“I’ll take one.” Aaron held out his empty bottle to her.
“I wasn’t asking you.” She glared at him.
“Why don’t you grab 3 beers since you’re getting up anyway.” Cameron handed his empty bottle to her, too.
“Fine.” She sighed, grabbing the empties and walked off.
A vibration in Cameron’s pocket went off and he fished it out, hoping it was Lilly but it was his mom.
[Do you still have an empty room?]
What an odd question.
[yea]
[Good!]
What the hell did that mean?
[?]
[I have a roommate for you :)]
[who?]
His heartbeat picked up and he sat a little straighter. His mom didn’t know anyone from his school and wouldn’t suggest a random person knowing his track record with people.
[It’s supposed to be a secret!][But she’ll be a perfect roommate :)][She’s coming this weekend. Make sure your place is clean!][And don’t say anything!!]
His mom was horrible at keeping secrets. And he was almost as bad as a wide grin light his face up.
“What are you smiling at?” Courtney handed him an opened beer.
“My best friend is going to be my roommate this year.”
