“I am sorry for putting us in this position but I could swear to you that I saw something dangerous coming,” Ethan said to Luna who looked at him in surprise as this was the first time he said anything important other than his name and thanked her.

“Did you just reply to me?” Luna asked Ethan who smiled taking a seat on the bare grass.

“Yes, I am not a mute person… is just something that happened to me that placed me in a traumatic state,” Ethan replied, making her chuckle as she took a seat beside him.

“How did you end up where I found you?” Luna asked Ethan who suddenly had a frown on his face like he didn’t want to remember what placed him in the situation he was in right now.

“I am a researcher for my school project called Wonders of Nature.” Ethan began making Luna stared at him puzzled.

“You research things concerning nature?” She said to him after being puzzled a bit earlier.

“Yes and of course every researcher has to be very fond of what they research and mine is the forest. I have raided through the different forests and found very fascinating things but except this one, I stumbled upon by accident.”Ethan continued.

“I felt a pull, like something wanted me inside this forest and I didn’t waste time in following my instincts, and at first when I walked into the forest it seemed like a perfect place to research I was even very pleased with my sudden findings,” Ethan said his facial expression getting more stiff and stiff as he told Luna everything.

“But then I heard sounds, loud sounds just like the one I heard earlier, and what surprised me the most was the fact that these sounds happened to know my name and kept calling, I didn’t even know what came over me or what made me follow the sound as it pulled me till I fell into this portal or timeline or whatever it is called,” Ethan said Luna felt confused as she wasn’t aware of any such thing as portals.

“And what happened next?” Luna asked when she noticed how quiet he suddenly was.

“I fell in between a fight, happening between two wolves…but nothing about the wolves surprised me instead the fact that they were able to talk to each other and they were both so huge and fierce as they battled. That was when I made a mistake and tried to take a picture of the fight scene unknown to me that my camera was going to make a sound….” Ethan stopped again, as he felt nervous trying to remember what happened.

Luna noticed he was scared to continue so she moved closer to him, placing her shoulder on his she tapped him gently trying to ease him up which worked.

“You don’t have to be frightened, I meant what said when I told you, you were safe with me,” Luna assured him as he suddenly became calm.

“They rushed up to me with rage as they tried to kill me and I also didn’t give up as I also tried to stop them, using all my might to pull away from their grip but….they…they were too strong and tried to piece me, it was like they could smell it that I was a human but then they got distracted and ran off,” Ethan said as Luna felt too triggered emotionally to even speak.

“Was it where I found you the fight happened?” Luna asked,

“No…when I woke up from being unconscious it was already nighttime and vultures were slowly walking up to me I most definitely wasn’t ready to get eaten up by those wicked animals so I crawled my way far away from them till I got to a nearby shade and hid there though I wasn’t aware of how I got out of the shade or for how long I was unconscious till you found me.” Ethan said with a teardrop trailing down his cheeks.

Luna cleaned his tears, Ethan suddenly felt the urge to behave bravely and stood up immediately turning his back towards Luna as he cleaned all the tears and composed himself.

Luna chuckled at his fierce act and stood up, she gently placed her hands on his shoulder patting him as he turned to stare at her.

“And I am also very sorry for what I am about to say to you,” Ethan added with a sad expression.

“You shouldn’t be sorry, I should be the one apologizing for what one of my pack members did to you… Werewolves might be ruthless but we don’t murder innocent people,” Luna said to Ethan who smiled.

“That’s not why I am apologizing.” Ethan began but this time he avoided Luna's stares.

“I think I already made a mistake I wasn’t supposed to make from the start.” He paused, making Luna more curious as to what else he was about to say.

“What mistake is that?” Luna asked.

“Walking into your world of mystery.” Ethan stuttered. Ethan was right in every way because Luna couldn’t find the might in her to take Ethan to the palace where he would be taken care of as she feared the whole pack might be in an uproar that Luna stumbled upon a human and instead of leaving him to perish she took him with her.

“You don’t have to be scared, I would protect you from any of those mysterious things you think might come your way just because you are a human,” Luna said to Ethan who smiled.

“I am not scared because of myself, I am scared because of you.” Luna stared at Ethan in confusion as she couldn’t understand what he meant and why he thought something was going to happen to her.

“You aren’t supposed to be around me.” Luna still couldn’t pinpoint what he meant but her heart shattered into pieces as she suddenly felt rejected before anything could begin.

“Ethan, I….” The sound of a loud gunshot stopped Luna word’s half away as Ethan's expression changed and he let go of her.

Her eyes widened in shock at what she had just seen.

“Ethan!!!!!!!!!!!!”
