When I walked to my next class and noticed Sadie in class, sitting in the middle seat, I was so happy. We continued our conversation in the lesson that followed. "The people here really aren't all bad." Sadie smiled. "You'll survive with no problem as long as you avoid Dina and her friends." "Dina?" I frowned and asked, not aware who she was. "The blonde girl who hangs around Curt and Knox." Oh Dina. The one the who called me a pig. "Too late. I bumped into her on my way looking for my classroom.” I said. Sadie trembled and said, "Just avoid Curt, Knox and Dina completely from now on. Dina is quite possessive and is currently with Curt.” “Okay, I will…” I was grateful for Sadie’s advice. In my subsequent lesson, both Curt and Knox were present. They sat alone at the back. By the time I came into the classroom, the front seat was already occupied so the teacher asked me to go back and sit close to Curt and Knox. I nearly went crazy after hearing this, but I had no option but to do so. As I was walking to the back, my foot slammed against someone's table leg, nearly sending me to the ground. The other students snickered, but I managed to stop myself in time. As I sat down, i felt sick to my stomach and my face burning. I didn't look them in the eye with my heart pounding. I felt two pairs of eyes burning into me, and I let out a shaky sigh. Glancing around, I met Curt and Knox’s eyes. They sat across the chair from mine, their black eyes looking directly into mine. Sitting this close to them was both a boon and a bane. It was a blessing because I had a much better perspective of them. They were much more intoxicating up close. They were identical twins— full eyebrows, followed by long eyelashes and plump lips. Sitting there alone, I tried to choose between the two, but it was impossible. I couldn't decide between them because they were both so handsome. "Oh look, Knox." Curt smiled, his voice tinged with humor. "It's the little girl with the strange eyes." Curt’s voice made my own voice catch in my throat. It was deep and ragged at the edges. Knox’s broad lips raised in a sneer as his cold eyes swept over me. "Isn’t she the one who bumped into us earlier? Who didn't watch where she was going." Knox smiled mischievously at his brother. They were talking about me. Being unattractive girl that I am, I sat quietly and tried not to gape at them. It was obvious that both of them knew they were handsome and hard to look away from. Now I was beginning to regret my strange and sudden interest in the twins. "Oh look, Knox." Curt smiled. "Miss ugly is trying to ignore us." My heart jumped when he called me that. The way they both looked at me made me feel both afraid and tempted. "Ignoring us will only make it worse for you, darling." Curt murmured. My heart still skipped a beat when they called me those names. I had never played the game they were playing before. Even though it was almost bullying, calling me these titles made it seem like they liked me. I scolded myself for actually thinking they would like me. Why, of all the girls in NeverDale, did I catch the attention of two godlike twins? I continued to ignore them, trying to focus on what the teacher was teaching. Throughout the class, they continued to make comments that irritated me. I wasn't sure if they wanted a reply or a furious explosion, but I wasn't giving it to them either. My next class had Curt, Sadie, Dina, and the rest of her friends. I was lucky enough to sit next to Sadie the entire time, although Curt kept smirking and bothering me. One look told me that Dina hated me, and that was not going to change anytime soon. Somehow, I survived the rest of the school day. I had the misfortune of having both Curt and Knox in two of the five extremely long lessons that were offered each day. My last class of the day was gym. It was made worse by the thought that I had exercise class with both Curt and Knox. Their piercing eyes on me made it even worst. Luckily for me, I was told to start another day because my gym outfit wasn’t ready today, which made me happy. But with the thought that I would be starting gym soon, I became sad again. Curt and Knox continued to torment me, both of them managing to agitate me. Dina’s hatred towards me also increased and I could sense it. I became even more closer to Sadie after I got the waitress job. The restaurant wasn’t too big, but it was the most popular in the town, with customer filling it everyday. I soon made another friend, Lana, and I was also getting good tips from the restaurant. Now, things were going well for me now. I could only hope it continued like this or even more better.
