The Alpha King

Chapter Two

(Erin's POV)

"Wassup, cutie?" Danny said, seeing me after his morning run.

"Ew, do not hug me, Danny. You f*****g stink. So how was the run?" I spoke

"It was great; we missed you, though." he winked at me, then he felt a hand smack the back of his head. "What the hell was that for?" he turned to face Jack.

"Stop flirting with my mate Danny," Jack said. My mate is so hot. "Hey, beautiful." He said, cupping my face; I blushed.

"Hello." I peaked at his lips.

"Do you guys have to do that in front of me?"

"Danny, you don't have to watch," I said, staring at my mate's eyes.

As I kissed my mate, we all felt my brother Titus's presence, whom we knew very well. Yep, that's right, dear readers, I'm Erin Reagan Black, beloved twin sister to Titus Harper Black.

"Jack, what have I told you about kissing my sister in front of me?" Titus said.

"Titus, come on, lighten up. Jack and I are mates; deal with it." I whipped my hair, bragging that I had found my soulmate before he did.

"Erin, just because you guys are mates doesn't mean I enjoy watching my sister and my best friend sucking each other's faces off." Titus gagged.

"Oh, pah-lease. You're just jealous your sister found her mate before you." Danny laughed.

Titus rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Please, once I am King, I'll have every she-wolf at my feet." Then my brother's eyes stared into space for a while. "Great...well, duty calls. Dear old dad is calling. Excuse me." My brother then left to meet with our father, wondering what daddy wanted from him.

(Titus's POV)

I knocked on my father's office door. "Titus, come in." I entered through the door; my body stiffened as I faced my dad. King George. The Alpha of Alpha's, The Alpha King.

"Father, you wanted to see me?" I spoke

"Titus, a future king, does not cower before his father." My dad said, lowering his glass of wine. "You shouldn't fear me; it breaks my heart that you are shivering at my presence."

"My apologies, father," I lowered my head.

" A king never apologizes either." I've had word that a new family has moved in from another town," my father said.

I took a deep breath and regained my composure. "Are they wolves, father?"

"No, they are human. You have to find out everything about every human and wolf who steps into this kingdom, Titus," dad explained.

"Yes, Alpha," I said.

"I know that I have been hard on you, but I believe it is in your best interest. The kingdom will all be yours one day." My father said as I looked out his office window overlooking the kingdom. "You are my heir to the throne, the future king—the one who will lead the next generation of Werewolves. You will not be only the leader of the Crescent Wolves but the ruler of the entire werewolf population. There is more commitment and responsibility than any other Alpha. You must be ready, Titus."

"I-I understand, dad. And I will be," I nodded.

"I have no doubt you will." My father smiled. "But you are not a man yet until you find your mate. The Moon Goddesses' Laws are clear. I need to know I am leaving my kingdom in the hands of someone who can produce an heir, someone who can keep the bloodline of the Royal White Werewolves. Titus, you are turning 18 in a few days, and you will be of age for your title as Alpha. I will not pass down the title of the Alpha King until you find your mate." My father said.

"Erin will be hosting our coming-of-age party. We'll be inviting countless wolves from across the world. I will find her." I said, reassuring him.

"Good. I don't want to pass the title down to your already mated sister, and she's only a few minutes younger than you, Titus. The only reason why you got the title instead of her. But it won't be hard for Erin to be Queen if she needs to be. Now I'm leaving you in charge for a few days, and Werewolf Hunters have been invading packs around the area; Jack's father and I need to sort this out, and by the time I get back, you had better have found your mate. Now get to school." My father left his office.

"Be safe, Father."

(Later that morning)

"Titus, what did your father want?" Jack asked me.

"Don't worry about it," I said to him while reading my book for the first period.

Jack growled, "Titus, I'm your future Beta; you have to tell me these things. Titus, please talk to me. What's bothering you?"

I placed the bookmark in my book, and I closed it. "My father wants me to find my mate before our fathers return from their trip," I said. "Otherwise, he won't crown me, King."

"You're not even 18 yet, Titus. You still have time to find her." Jack said, "Still...this sucks."

"You're telling me," I said, banging my head on the table.

"Hey Titus," said Sadie.

"H-Hi, Sadie." I blushed. "Uh, how's life?" I said to her nervously.

"It would be much better if you were in it. See you around, Titus." I winked as she blew me a kiss and walked over to her desk."

"See you around." Jack mocked Sadie's words but added more seduction to them. He laughed.

"Shut up!" I growled.

"Yo, what's up, my brothers from other mothers?" Danny said, using hand gestures to make himself look more gangster. What a wannabe. Jack and I cringed. "Aren't you boys excited about being seniors? We're like the school leaders, the bosses, the CEOs if you want to be dramatic. All the bitches will be hitting on us."

"Danny, shut up," Jack said.

"Screw you, Jack, just because you found your mate and are now tied down, no need to kill our buzz."

"Why would I want any other girl when I have found the love of my life? The goddess gave me Erin, and I'm not going to cheat on her, and it'd be a great insult to both her and the Moon Goddess."

"Dude, that's gross. I'm going to be over there having fun with the ladies. Oh well, while you boys are going to be boring over here. Your Highness." I scoffed at him as he walked away.

"I swear, Titus if the pack didn't respect Danny's father, he wouldn't be the future Delta. I WOULD'VE STRANGLED HIM ALREADY!!" Jack roared.

"When Danny finds his mate, he'll grow up. The goddess will give him his mate when she feels that he is ready." I spoke

"Let's pray that Danny will meet his mate soon, or I'll kill him for real this time." Jack groaned.

"Jack, can you..." I soon felt something that set my wolf on edge. "Can you feel that?" What was this feeling?

"Feel what, Titus??" Jack asked me.

Out of nowhere, a sensational feeling surged through my body. My head rolled back involuntarily, and my eyes allowed the emotions to overpower my body. A rush shot through me, and it felt amazing. The feeling began overtaking me, my heartbeat was racing, and my tongue became numb. My body felt like it was on fire; I could feel sweat dripping from my forehead.

"Hey, you okay, bro?" Jack asked. I snapped out of my trance when Jack spoke. "Titus! Are you okay?"

"It's hot. Are you hot?" I breathed heavily.

"Titus, it's just below zero in here." He took a closer look at me. "HOLY f*****g s**t! Titus, what are you doing?!"

I didn't know what Jack was screaming at me for, but as I looked at my hands, they had grown claws. Jamie was howling in my head as more sweat began to run down my body. I didn't know what was happening, but I couldn't control myself anymore.

"Titus, pull yourself together! You better not shift here; there are still humans that attend this school, remember."

"Don't you think I know that!?" I glared at him; I felt Jamie clawing his way out. I felt my teeth growing sharp.

"Titus! Your eyes." Jack said, his voice laced with fear. "Control Jamie now, or you'll have to get out of here."

No matter how hard I tried, nothing was working. Jamie wasn't calming down, and I was about to shift into my wolf in front of all these humans. I shut my eyes, thinking calming thoughts as my body shook like a leaf.

"Hi, I'm Aurora," said a beautiful young girl.

"Hello, I was told we are getting a new student today. Welcome to Avalon High; I hope you enjoy your time here." Mrs. Chesterfield said, greeting this new girl.

"Thank you!" She said, smiling.

As soon as this girl entered the room, the feeling washed over my body. She was beautiful. She has this glow around her. What was that? I looked at my hands, they were back to normal, and I could guess my eyes were back to normal. I watched as this female stood sheepishly at the front of the class. I watched her lips moving as she spoke every word. Her voice was like a chorus of angels, a symphony. I couldn't make out any words as they were all jumbled together in perfect sync. She's nervous, no doubt about that; I could hear her voice shaking as she began fidgeting with her watch. I took in every curve, every dip her body held. I noticed the way her hair fell effortlessly in perfect waves. My eyes met hers, and my whole body went numb—her perfectly shaped eyes contained a sweet hazel. Everything went silent and in a blur. I am beyond memorized by the sound of her heart as we locked eyes.

I fought every urge to pick her up out of the classroom and mark her in the hallway. Jamie was screaming inside my head to do this. I tried to break the trance I was in, but it was too difficult. I wanted to touch her, hear her call my name, and look at those brown eyes. I wanted to know everything about her, to protect her.

"TITUS!!!" I looked over to Jack, who was screaming my name.

"Dude, why are you yelling?" I asked him.

"I see you're back to normal," Jack scoffed.

"I've always been normal, Jack. But you. I think you need to get checked out by the pack doctors; your hearing might be out." I laughed as Jack growled.

(Aurora's POV)

"Class, I would like to introduce you to someone. Everyone, please say hello to Aurora; she's new here, so be sure to make her feel welcome." Mrs. Chesterfield said, introducing me to everyone

As the teacher was busy introducing me to the class, I scanned the room and everyone inside. As my eyes wandered, they stopped instantly, drawing in all my focus. My eyes locked into his. His eyes were transparent, staring deep into my own. There was something about him that I couldn't describe, like a violet mist drawing me in. I could feel his hot breath, and his warm skin was touching me. He was handsome. His stare was intense. He looked at me confusedly, but all I could focus on was his whole being. As he took each breath, the harsh light would shine on his eyes, causing them to sparkle. My body was screaming at me to look away, but my eyes wouldn't stop looking at him.

"You can take your seat next to Danny." Mrs. Chesterfield said, "Now, class, complete the worksheet I have given you. They will be good study notes for your mid-terms. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be at my desk if you need anything."

I took a seat next to Danny as the teacher told me to, but this Danny guy just screamed player and man-w***e. God, he reeks of s*x and overconfidence. "Hey, gorgeous," Danny winked.

"H-Hi."

I heard a slight growl, but I thought nothing of it. Umm, Danny, are you okay?" I asked him.

"Uh, yeah. Just haven't eaten this morning and must be getting hungry." Danny said, taking his eyes off me and reading his textbook. Weird.

He was acting flirty with me, and now he's backing off. Men. "Okay." That didn't sound like a stomach growling.

(Titus's POV)

As soon as I saw one of my pack members talking to her, I felt uncontrollable rage. I didn't think, and I let out a low growl. I mind-linked Danny's dumbass and the rest of the pack members in the room. "Danny, you better keep your f*****g mouth shut."

"Was it necessary to growl at me, bro? You nearly gave us away. What is your problem, man? You never get involved when I flirt with girls." Danny said, communicating with the mind link.

"Danny, I f*****g mean it; stop talking to her like that. Otherwise, I'll come over there and rip your f*****g d**k off in front of the whole class."

"Whoa, bro, Titus, relax," Jack said. "What has gotten you heated up? He was just talking to her."

"I didn't know? I don't know what's happening to me. I just know that every time this d**k-head talks to her, I feel like ripping his goddamn throat out." I breathed heavily.

"You've been acting weird all day, bro. Have you let Jamie out for a run recently? Maybe he's on edge?"

"Oh, come on, you idiots. I even know what is going on with my tough-guy brother. She's your mate, DUMBASS," Erin snapped.

"My what?!"

"Titus has finally found her! He can finally stop crying over it." Jack said, and I punched him on his shoulder. "Damn, dude, not so hard."

"f**k!" Danny gasped. "I'm sorry...my bad, bro."

"Oh Danny, bro, you just flirted with Titus's mate. Not only is Titus soon to be Alpha, but also soon to be KING of the werewolves." Jack laughed hard.

"Jack, we may be mated, but you had better shut up or sleep on the f*****g couch. You shut up as well, Titus, or you can just sleep outside."

I laughed lowly. After school ended, I decided to wait for Aurora after school. I need to be sure that she was my mate, that she was the reason I am feeling. I didn't know how to think about it. My whole life, I have been surrounded by mates. I've seen wolves change from mighty warriors to squealing pups as soon as their mate is near. I never understood it. Now that I have found her, she's supposed to be the one I would give myself to, the one I am to spend all of eternity. "Jamie, we are males! Kings!! We aren't supposed to have these sorts of feelings. We're not supposed to have any feelings."

"I don't care what you think, or anyone else thinks; we found her, and she's perfect." Jamie purred, and that made me throw up a little bit."

"Are you purring!?" You've got to be f*****g kidding, my wolf is a f*****g King, and now he's purring in my head like a little b***h.

"Can you feel that, Titus?! Mate is near!"

"Oh...hi," Aurora said, rubbing her arms.

"She's perfect." Jamie purred even louder.

Here it goes. "Hi, Aurora; I'm Titus; I saw you in class during the first period this morning. I didn't know you realized this, but..." Just as I was about to tell her that she was mate, something felt off.

"Titus...I can't sense her inner wolf." Jamie said

"She doesn't have a wolf scent either...this could only mean one thing. My mate is a f*****g human!" I said to Jamie.

"Uh, Titus? What didn't I realize?"

I ran away from her at the sudden realization. Goddess, I need some air.

(Erin's POV)

Wow. I saw my stupid brother walk out on his mate. As usual, I'm here to clean up his mess. "Hey, Aurora, I'm Erin." She turned around. "I was also in your first-period class since this morning."

"Right." She spoke

"Just ignore Titus. He's just a typical boy. I came here to invite you to my party this weekend. It's my 18th birthday, and I would love you to come. Everything will be there."

"Uh, thanks, but I don't think--

"Oh, come on!! It will be fun!" I said.

"I don't know." She shuddered. I have to convince her somehow to come; she's my future sister-in-law.

"Please, it will be worth it, meeting new people. You're new, and you're already the talk of the school." She gave me a weird look like she wanted to keep a low profile but failed at that task miserably. "But that doesn't matter." My brother is your mate. UGH, this isn't working; she's not budging. I need to bring out the BIG GUNS. "It's because you don't want me with you, isn't it?" I said, fake crying.

"What, no! I--"

"It's okay, I understand; sometimes, I can get too much." I cried, and it's working; she's feeling the guilt my crocodile tears are bringing.

"No, that's not it." I cried even harder in front of her. "Okay, I'll come. Please stop crying!! I just..."

"Really??! YAY!! Us going shopping is going to be great. You're going to make my day even better!! I can already tell we will be the best of friends." I said, stopping the fake tears and returning to my happy, bubbly self. "Now, let's go! With that body, you are so coming to tryouts!!

I dragged Aurora to the football field, and she needed to be a part of my cheerleading squad; she has the body, and by the goddess that rack, it's perfect, not too big, not too small. It's like the Moon Goddess sculpted this hot sexy baby-making b***h for my brother.

"Welcome to the Avalon High Cheerleading Tryout. I'm Erin, and I am the squad captain; this is Sadie; she's my second in command, and she'll be helping me with today's tryouts. Now show me what you bitches can do!" I said, cheering.

(Titus's POV)

I decided to stay behind and watch the cheerleading tryouts to keep an eye on my mate. She's human. Why did the moon goddess pair me with a weak human? Humans are a blight on the world; they destroy all they touch. They kill and wipe out forces they don't understand; what they can't control, they kill. All they bring is death and destruction. Humanity has nearly destroyed the world twice in the last century. My fated mate can't be human. She can't rule the werewolf kingdom when she's not a werewolf herself.

I still couldn't believe it. How can a werewolf be mated to a human? It has never happened before. An inner wolf meets their other half in the realm of the goddess, so how the f**k did Jamie meet Aurora? I was so confused.

"So, how'd it go?" Jack said, sitting next to me.

"She's human," I said

"WHAT!!" Jack said, standing up.

"Jeez, bro, sit down." He sat back down.

"How is this possible?" Jack asked me.

"I don't know. What are you going to do?" Jack asked me.

"I don't know, but I have to do something. I need her if I am going to become king."

"OMG!!! Titus is watching!!" The cheerleaders squealed at the sight of me.

"Titus, leave. NOW!! You are distracting my girls." Erin yelled in my head.

"Hey, not my fault. These chicks are digging me." I laughed.

"Keeping your eyes on your mates and only your mate." Erin scowled at me.

"Dude," Jack laughed.

"Shut up," I yelled.

(Aurora's POV)

Erin told the girls and me to run the track to warm up. Most of us complained, but I didn't. It was good to run and let off some steam. After tryouts ended, Erin approached me with a big smile. I guess I impressed her. I didn't even agree to try out for the squad; she forced me.

"Wasn't that fun?" Erin asked me.

"Yeah, sure," I said

"Well, I have to head home. But I'll see you tomorrow!" Erin blew me a kiss and ran off. Before catching my breath, a fellow student knocked me to the ground.

"I'm so sorry; I wasn't looking where I was going. Are you okay?" Said the i***t that ran into me.

"I'm fine; just watch where you are running next time," I said, annoyed.

"I'm Tyler; you must be new around here."

"Is it that obvious?" I laughed nervously.

"It's just. I would have remembered seeing such a pretty face before." I blushed at his words. He has charm. "Hey, do you want to see a movie sometime?

I didn't know what to say. This guy ran into me and now is suddenly interested in me?? I mean, I might as well try and make some friends. "Sure, why not?" I shrugged at him.

"How does tomorrow night sound?" Tyler said.

"Yeah, sounds great." I smiled

"Sweet, I'll see you tomorrow." Tyler winked at me and walked home.

(Titus's POV)

(Later that night)

"This complicates everything, Titus. Our mate is a human. What are we going to do?" Jamie said.

"I don't know." She's human. How am I meant to become king with a human by my side?" I said to Jamie.

"Not to mention she is vulnerable! If the rogues find out, our mates' lives will be at risk, Titus, and they will kill her."

Ugh, I need to go for a run! I stripped naked and began to shift into my wolf. Jamie is a pure white wolf. After all, we are royalty. I was so confused about what I would do that I needed to run to clear my mind. I could feel my whole body change as I let Jamie take over. The cracking of bones filled the soundless air; my hands and feet turned into paws while my nails turned into claws. My teeth grew into canines while the rest of my body emerged into a wolf.

I was eight years old when I first shifted, and it was unbearably painful. I was alone when I turned into my wolf, with no one to guide me through the shift, and I fought the transformation, which made the pain even worse. After that, Jamie spoke for the first time, and I never felt the pain of shifting again. He explained that the first shift is supposed to be painful, but it's as simple as breathing after the first time.

I ran into the forest where I liked to be alone and turned back into my human form. I put my boxers and pants back on while I held my shirt. As an Alpha, I will need my Luna by my side. But now, is Aurora supposed to be a Luna when she has no idea what any of this means? Not only will Aurora be my Luna, but she'll one day be Queen.

What am I going to do? I heard a twig snap, I smelled someone approaching me, and I was ready to attack. I'm hoping that it's not hunters.
