(Titus's POV)
Even though Aurora told the story about what happened to her sister, she generally acted normally during dinner. I guess she wanted to look strong for her parents and me. Dinner with Aurora's parents was so good. I was able to get to know the people who raised my mate to be the perfect girl she is. The two people who brought my mate into the world to allow me to gain the chance to meet the most beautiful girl in the world.
I couldn't even enjoy the meal that Aurora's mother made. On the other hand, her father, I could tell that he was not very fond of me, so I had to be careful around him. He was glaring at me like King Harold from Shrek during the dinner scene. As dinner ended, I was escorted to the door. "Thank you so much for dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong." I smiled at them.
"You are very welcome, my dear. You have been so delightful to get to know Titus, and I hope you can join us for dinner again." Aurora's mother smiled. "I'm sure Aurora would love to have you over again."
"I would love that very much," I said.
I looked at Aurora, and she blushed at my response. "Well, Titus should be going now."
"Bye, Titus, see you soon." Aurora's mother said.
"Goodbye, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong." I walked with Aurora to my car.
"I'm sorry for tonight, Titus. I know it was unexpected," Aurora said with embarrassment.
"I had the best night. I was able to meet the people that gave me you." I kissed her cheek. "Aurora, you are so beautiful, and I hope you know how much I love you."
"I know. I care about you too, Titus," I smiled at her. "I will see you tomorrow Titus."
"I'll see you tomorrow, beautiful." I kissed her cheek again, got in my car, and drove home. The whole ride home, I thought of ways to kill Gabrial. He made her lose someone so close to her, and he is not getting away with this. As I pulled into the driveway of the packhouse, I saw items on the ground and windows smashed in. Oh no! I got out of my car, burst the front door, and found my mom and dad crying.
"Mom, Dad, what's going on?" I said.
"Titus, where the f**k were you tonight?!" My father yelled.
"I was out," I whispered.
"Well, because you were out," My father said sarcastically. "The rogue wolves came into our territory."
"WHAT?! How did this happen?" I asked my father.
"None of us were prepared for the attack. The rogues took out all the weak, the wolves who survived the hunters, and they trashed the packhouse to add the salt to the f*****g wound! Titus, you are my heir. You are supposed to be here for your pack! And because of this attack, many of our loved ones have died."
I looked around the trashed house and then looked worried at my dad. "Dad, where's Erin?!"
My dad looked at the ground, but my mother was a hysterical mess. They said nothing. "Dad! Where is my SISTER?! Where is Erin?"
Without thinking, I ran out of the living room. My heart was pounding, and my hands were sweating. I searched the whole packhouse for my twin sister. Erin and I are twins, with a special connection that only twins share. I can feel her pain, her thoughts. But tonight, I couldn't feel anything. I looked all over the place for Erin but still couldn't find her. My heart sank into my stomach. I can't lose my sister; I just can't. "No, Erin, you can't be dead." I turned around and smacked into a figure. When my vision cleared, I saw Erin. "Erin!" I hugged her immediately as I saw her. "I was so worried about you. I thought I lost you, and I couldn't feel you through the twin bond."
"Not me, Titus. Jack," Erin cried.
"WHAT?!?!" I shouted.
"The rogues got to Priscilla, and she didn't make it," Erin said.
"Oh no," I hugged her again.
"He's not taking it well. If you are looking for Jack, he is in the gym, and his mother's body is in her room. Beta Moses is with her now," Erin said.
"I'll go see Jack; he needs me now more than ever, then I'll go and see Priscilla." I walked off and heard Erin crying. I entered the gym and found him punching a practice dummy. "Jack?" I said from behind.
Jack stopped punching and went to hit me, but I caught his punch. "Where the f**k were you, Titus?"
"Jack, I-I'm so sorry." Jack tried to kick my leg, but I flipped and pinned him to the wall.
"You were meant to be there!! You are meant to be there with me and your father to PROTECT THIS PACK!! My mother is dead, Titus. She's f*****g DEAD. And there's nothing I can do to bring her back." Tears ran down his face; I lessened my grip and embraced him.
"I promise you, bro, we will find whoever did this and kill them. We will kill every last one of them. And this time, I'll be there.
Hours later, after comforting the pack members, I went to speak to my father, who was yelling on the phone. "I can't care what it takes. Find the bastards that attacked my pack and kill them all. Leave nothing left alive, and don't spare the children. I don't want them to grow up seeking revenge." My father yelled at the person on the other end of the phone. He hung up and banged on the table with his fists. "Dammit."
"Dad, what are we going to do!?" My father turned to face me.
"I don't think you are in the right mind to help at this point." My father sat down at his desk.
"That's rich coming from a man who ordered another person to kill children if you're not getting information on who attacked the pack," I growled.
"Watch your tone with me, Titus." My dad's eyes turned back with growing rage.
"It was one mistake; it will not happen again," I said.
"But how am I meant to know it won't happen again!? You won't even tell me where you were when the attack occurred. How is anyone supposed to rely on you when you are out doing your own--
"I was out with my MATE!!!" I shouted.
My dad's eyes widened when I said those words. "You, you found your mate!?!" My dad said, making sure he heard me right.
I took a deep breath. "Yes, I did. That's the reason I was home late tonight."
"Well, if you found your mate, how come you haven't taken her to meet your mother and me yet?" My father asked. "She will be ruling beside you as the Queen of the Werewolves; it's only fair that we meet her as soon as possible."
"Dad, right now is not the best time to be talking about this," I said.
"When will be the best time, Titus?" My dad said.
"Not right now, Dad. Not when your best friend's mate is lying motionless under the same damn roof. And not when my best friend is grieving the loss of his mother." I growled.
"You know, Titus, there is one more thing on my mind. What kind of she-wolf wouldn't want to meet her mate's pack, anyway?" My father asked me. "Especially if her mate is a member of the Royal Family?
"You gotta be f*****g kidding me." I rolled my eyes.
"Does she have no respect for who we are? I can already see what type of wolf she is." My father roared.
Then I lost it, my eyes turned back, and I knocked my father into a wall. "HUMAN! MY MATE IS HUMAN! You better watch how you talk about her!"
"What? That's impossible." My father said in shock.
"Yes, my mate is a human. That is why I didn't tell you about her earlier, and that's why I haven't brought her to meet you and mom yet." I stepped closer to him. "So tell me, father, is this the right time to introduce her to everyone now?"
"But how? H-How is this possible?" My father said.
"Your guess is as good as mine," I said.
"Who else knows about this, Titus? Who else knows that you are mated to a human?" My father demanded an answer.
"Only Jack and Erin, that's all, and we can talk more about this later. We need to find out how we will avenge the people that have died tonight," I said.
My father breathed deeply. "Yes, you're right. Don't bring this up with anyone else until we find out more." I nodded at him in understanding.
A few days later, I got on a plane; I had just got done telling Aurora over the phone that I had to leave earlier than expected. I didn't tell her the real reason; I just told her that I had to go with my father to train for the family business. I could tell in her voice that she wasn't stoked about me leaving, but she understood. My father and I decided to go without Jack and his father. We allowed time for them to heal. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the rogues that killed my pack members. They have caused so much pain and suffering to the people I love. They will never get away with this!
May the Moon Goddess have mercy on their souls. Cause I won't be merciful.
