Chapter Nineteen

2307 Words
(Titus's POV) It's been three days since Aurora's birthday party, three since reading the letter from Gabrial, and three days since my mate went missing. There have been no leads as to where she is. I have been reading the letter Gabrial sent to me over and over again, and still nothing. How am I supposed to be king if I can't care for my mate like a king is supposed to? I failed to protect her, to keep her away from him. Right now, nothing has mattered to me; my world has been ripped out. Aurora is with that psychotic bastard, who knows what he's doing to her. "Titus?" Jack said, walking into my room. "Not now, Jack," I growled. "Get out." "Bro, you haven't left your room in days. Please eat something." Jack begged. "I'm not hungry," I said. "Please, starving yourself won't do Aurora any good. You need to eat." Jack said. I slammed the note from Gabrial on my desk in anger. "How do you expect me to eat anything, Jack? Aurora is out there suffering, getting beaten to death, starved. Hell, she's probably getting f*****g pack r***d by those sick f***s, and all I'm doing is reading this damn letter repeatedly! Sitting here doing nothing while that bastard has my mate!!! So don't you EVER tell me that I should be eating something while she probably isn't!" "She needs you to be stronger than this, Titus. When we find her, you must be at your strongest to kill anything in your way. Make them pay Titus; if you sit here feeling like s**t, Gabrial won." Jack said. I put my hand on my face and sighed. "What king is dumb enough to allow his mate to be taken away like that? You and I both know what he's capable of doing. Out of all the insane people in this world, Gabrial is the one to have her. Aurora is with Gabrial, and there's no telling if she's ever coming back to me." "Don't worry, Titus. Goddess willing, we will find that sick freak, kill him, and bring her home." Jack vowed. "The pack is with you; just tell us what to do, and we will bring our Queen home." I grabbed my phone and began to dial the other Alphas. "Jack, call the nearby Alpha's and ask them if they saw or heard anything," I said. Jack took out his phone without hesitation, but with each pack we called, the result was the same. "Crap, nobody saw anything crossing into their territory." "How the hell has no one seen or heard a rogue wolf running through their territory?! Nothing can hide the stench of a werewolf without a pack!" Then Jack's face flushed. "Unless they flew over it. I will call every flight service in Avalon in the surrounding area serving both humans and wolves." Jack said, dialing the number. "Find him! And where the hell is Danny?" I said. Danny came running when I called him through the mind link. "Yes, your highness?" Danny said, running. "Where the hell have you been?" I said. "I've been doing my job. I've been talking with the pack warriors and the captain. I have already informed them of what's happening, and they're ready to go at your command." Oh no. Danny, you didn't. "Danny, what did you do? No one knows I have found my mate." I yelled. "What exactly did you tell them?" "Before you rip me apart, I didn't mention the word mate. I only said that a wolf from our kingdom had been kidnapped, and the Prince is doing everything he can to bring her back home. Did I also mention that I picked up Gabrial's scent?" Jack dropped his phone in shock. "What the hell Danny? Why didn't you say that, to begin with!?" Jacks said as he picked up his phone. "Wow, Danny is doing his job for once," I said, making a slow clap. "I am your future Delta, your highness. It wounds me that you have so little in me." Danny said. "Okay, future Delta. What have you done about this scent?" I growled. Danny smiled. "I sent some spies to scope it out; they should be back within the hour," Danny explained. "Jack, call in a meeting with Killian. We need his help to forge a plan to catch this son of a b***h," I said. "Should we tell your father?" Jack asked me. I glared at him. "He wouldn't give a wolf's ass if my mate died because she's human." I got dressed while waiting for Jack to get the leader of the pack warriors. However, Killian brought his son Sebastian. I sat on my chair. "Killian, Sebastian, what's the update?" I asked them. "The scent that Danny found was lost by the lake, meaning they didn't travel by air but by boat. The spies that Danny sent are doing all they can to find where they are keeping her. But we're not sure how far they'll get without Gabrial's scent, your highness." Killian explained. I noticed Sebastian shaking and biting his lip. I heard him breathing heavily. "Sebastian?" "You're highness?" Sebastian gulped. "You looked like you had something on your mind. I want to hear it." I asked. I think I know what he's thinking. "Sir, it's a dumb idea." Sebastian turned his head away from my gaze. "Sebastian, Aurora has been kidnapped, and I want her back," I said. "Please, I'm open to any ideas to help me bring her home." Sabastian gasped slightly. "Aurora has been taken!?" Sebastian quickly regained his composure. "I know that this might be the stupidest idea ever, but I think we should ask the Werewolf Hunters for help. I laughed very hard at his idea. "You're right; that is stupid, and it's never gonna happen," I said. "Sir, please let me explain. As the next in line for Leader of the Royal Gaurd and Pack Warriors, I have done my research around our future Qu- I mean Aurora. I know her relationship with the hunters; since she was kidnapped, I know they will help us." "And what do the hunters have that we don't have already?" Killian said, making a good point. "They have all the tools and resources needed to kill werewolves and have dedicated their lives to knowing everything about us—every strength and weakness. Gabrial will be like child's play to them," Sebastian smiled. "They will be motivated to kill Gabrial themselves because they have Aurora. Your highness, if we team up with them, we will have a better chance at finding Aurora and taking down Gabrial and his entire pack of rogues." "I've got to admit; it's a pretty good plan, risky but good." Jack nodded. "I agree. Okay, Sebastian and I will visit them tonight," I declared. "Wait, what?" Jack said. "If anything happens to me, you boys are next in line," I said to Jack and Danny. "Then I should also go with you and Sebastian to keep you safe," Jack protested. "No, Joesph knows who I am, and it will be better if I'm there," I said. "With all due respect, your highness, I must suggest that I go with you and Bast. You need all the protection you can get if things go south." Killian said. Why is it when someone says with all due respect that they mean kiss my ass? "No, only the two of us. I don't want them to think we are starting a war with them. But I want the strongest warriors standing on guard to be safe. Then meet back here in an hour." I said. I'm coming my Northern Light. I'm coming for you, baby. I put on some of my regular clothes to meet with Aurora's father. If he knows she's in danger, he will do everything he can to get her back. However, before I could leave my room, my father walked in. "I see you're going to meet with the hunters." My father scoffed, "WITHOUT INFORMING ME FIRST?!" I didn't think you would care, dad," I said, not looking in his direction. "No, I forbid you to go anywhere near those murderers!" My father growled. I closed my closet door. "Look, I don't have the time, energy, or patience to argue with you right now, dad. My mate has been kidnapped. She rescued the three missing pups that were taken and ended up getting taken. Aurora risked her life for them without any regard for her own. Aurora will be a fantastic Queen, dad. And if you can see that, that's on you," I walked out of my room, leaving my father to think about what I said and hoping that he would change his mind about her. Sebastian and I stood by the front door of Aurora's house. But when we knocked on the door and let ourselves in, we were greeted by guns pointed at us by Aurora's father and her Aunt Freya. Sebastian scoffed. "Is that any way to treat a prince?" "You're prince can go suck it!" Freya spat "We need to talk," I said, trying to rip off the bandaid and ask for help. "I don't think so, now return my niece to us and get the f**k out of this house." Freya clocked her gun. "This is about Aurora. I suggest you better listen to what I have to say." I said calmly, "A rogue pack has taken her. "WHAT??" Freya yelled. "You expect us to just take your word for it?" Joesph said, lowering his gun. "For all you know, you could be behind this." He clenched his teeth. Typical behavior, no surprise there. "You think I would risk my life and the life of my pack member to lead you into a trap?" "Who knows how crazy you and you're kind are," Joesph yelled. "Now tell me where my daughter is, you filthy mutt!" "Now, there is no need for name-calling, Mr. Armstrong." My father said, walking past Sebastian and me. "My son has told you where your daughter is." "The Werewolf King!" Freya said, laced with pure hatred. "We have never seen him before." "Look, I get that we have our differences, but we need to put them aside!" I pleaded. "Aurora has been taken." "And you thought bringing your King along would change our minds?" Freya said. "What do you mean taken?" Joesph asked while putting his gun back in its holster. "Joesph, you can't seriously be taking their word for it," Freya said, looking at him. "If this is something to do with Aurora's life, I don't want to risk it. Put the gun down! "Joesph ordered, and Freya reluctantly obeyed. "Now, I'm sure you know of a werewolf named Gabrial Rossi?" Sebastian said. "He took your daughter." "Gabrial is nothing but all talk. He will never follow through with his threats, and he has no spine whatsoever," Joesph explained. "You want to tell Aurora that?" my father said sarcastically. "DAD!!" I said through the mind-link. "You talk about Aurora like that again, and I will put a silver bullet between your eyes. You have no idea how much your heart is worth in the supernatural black market. I don't care if you are the king." "Touch him, and I will take you on, old man." Sebastian threatened. "Everyone stop!" I roared. Think about it, Joseph, the more time we spend fighting, the more time Aurora is with Gabrial. Gabrial isn't someone you mess around with. I've seen it. When I was younger, I saw him kill Kiara. I saved Aurora from him that day. You should know Joseph; you were there, so you hate werewolves. But deep down, you know not all of us are bad," I said. "You were in wolf form; how do I know it was you?" Joesph said. "Damn it, Joesph, you are letting your hatred of werewolves blind you from the real threat here," I said, getting pissed. Freya scoffed. " That's why we don't trust your kind!" "The best way to get Aurora back is if we join forces, and I never thought I would see the day where I would be going out of my way to save a human, but she saved three members of my kind, and I owe it to her. Aurora risked her life for the safety of three young pups. Now it's my turn to do whatever it takes to save her. With or without your help!" My father said coldly. I thanked my father in the mind link; I knew he still had his good old code of honor. There was a long period of silence, but eventually, Joesph spoke. "Fine, we will work with you." "Joesph, you can't be serious." Freya turned towards him. "If Aurora is with that bastard, I want to waste any more time. But after this, we will return to the way it was." Joesph said. "We wouldn't want it any other way." My father snickered. "We have spies looking for Gabrials's location, but the more eyes, the better." "I'll get my team onto it and keep your men in the loop," Joesph said. "Good, I'll get my warriors ready to bring him and his pack down." My father smiled. The way my father appeared and persuaded Joseph today was admirable. A true King. One that I must live up to. Thank you so much, father. Suddenly, my father went up to Joseph. The room was tense as everyone stiffened at that moment. I watched as my father extended his hand out to Joesph, and I couldn't believe that Joesph took my father's hand and shook it. For the first time in recorded history, werewolves and hunters have joined forces. I was witnessing history being made today.
