(Aurora's POV)
I was worried about Titus when he got shot, but when I turned around, I saw my father holding a gun in his hands. I heard a low growl behind, which reminded me of that night in the woods. The same growl in the woods.
"Aurora! Get behind me!" My father yelled as he fired another shot at Titus.
"DAD, STOP THIS NOW!" I screamed as I rushed in between them. "Dad, don't do this."
My heart was racing, and I was scared of what was happening. After a while, the white wolf in front of me turned back into Titus. "Aurora," Titus said, but my father knocked him on the head with a bat and dragged him into the house.
"Titus!?" My mother said, shocked.
"Titus?" "As in Aurora's boyfriend?" my aunt Freya said, confused.
"DAD!!! STOP THIS NOW!!" I yelled at my father as he was dragging him away from us.
"Aurora, what's going on?" My mother asked.
"It's dad, he's-" I was hyperventilating, seeing so many things in the last few minutes.
"Honey, calm down. Breathe," My mother said, and I did as she instructed. "Now start from the beginning, Aurora.
"Mom, Aunt Freya. Titus is a werewolf; he turned into some wolf, and dad SHOT HIM! You guys probably don't believe me, and I don't blame you. But I need to find him." Then my father came storming into the living room and stomped right past us without saying a word.
"Joe, do you care to explain yourself?" My mother said.
"Dad!! Wait!!" I called out. "What have you done with him?" I said to him, but he wouldn't even look at me.
"You brought a werewolf into my home!" My father snarled.
"Watch your tone with her, Joseph!" Aunt Freya growled.
"Listen well, Aurora, if you ever want to see that boy again, I suggest you come with me now." My father said, storming off with me running after him. I got in the car with him, and he took me to Kiara's grave. I started to wonder what this has to do with Titus?
"Dad, what does Kiara's grave have anything to do with Titus," I asked him. My father's face turned red with rage, and he made a fist.
"An animal killed your sister." My father said.
"Yes, she was, quit beating around the bush and tell me what Kiara has to do with Titus?" I was starting to get pissed.
"Do you know what kind of animal killed her?" My father said. "Tell me, what do you remember from that day?"
"I don't remember anything, dad. We went through this when Kiara died," I said.
"Yes, you do. You deny what you saw. What was it?" My father said.
"I don't know, dad, someone killed Kiara." I scoffed.
'No, it wasn't. My father started to yell while touching his head with his finger. God dammit, Aurora, think harder!"
I glared at my dad. "What do you want me to say that I saw, dad? An overgrown wolf? Tearing my big sister into pieces? Impossible."
"It isn't; you saw it with your own two eyes." My father screamed.
"STOP IT!" I yelled, shaking my head and covering my ears. "SHUT UP. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYMORE OF THIS s**t!"
"You were out there in the woods; you saw your sister. You were face to face with the thing that attacked her. What was it?!" My father snarled.
'I don't know!" I screamed.
"YES, YOU DO!" My father yelled. "Think, Aurora!!"
Memory Flashes of that day were popping into my head as images. "No, I-I don't know!" I screamed.
"Keeping thinking, Aurora!!! What did you see!!?" My father placed his hands on my shoulders.
I looked deeper into that day when Kiara told me to run. I saw an image of a giant wolf. "A wolf! A wolf killed my sister! And Titus is- Oh my god." I gasped. "No,"
"What is he, Aurora!?" My father said calmly. "What is he?"
"A, a wolf." I stepped back, leaning on my sister's grave.
"Exactly so; Titus killed your sister!" My dad said, trying to convince me that he had killed her. I lifted my head and looked at him. Now he's crazy.
"What!" I said.
"You said it yourself, Aurora. My father said. Titus is a werewolf, and a werewolf killed your sister."
"No!! That's complete bullshit; you're lying!! It wasn't Titus. He would've been too young," I said.
"Don't be naive; he's a supernatural animal. My father said. Aurora, they have abilities."
"Titus would have told me; he would have told me if he was there," I yelled.
"Aurora, do you think he would tell you anything? He didn't even tell you his deepest, darkest secret. What he is. WEREWOLF!! And he killed your sister.
"No, your lying." I can't believe this; none of what my father says is true; I have to hear Titus's side of the story and find him. I ran away from my father in tears.
(Titus's POV)
I woke up in a cold cell. My hands burned when I touched it, f*****g silver. How was I so blind? I should have seen this coming, and what are the odds that my mate's parents are werewolf hunters, Goddess? All I want to do is tear that man apart, but I know that Aurora will not stand for it. She was afraid of me. How am I going to explain all this to her? Aurora is probably freaking out right now.
"Hey Titus, I know you are having a good time with your mate and everything, but if you don't come home soon, Erin will beat my ass. Where are you?" Josh said through the mind link, "Dude, your link is fragile."
"Jack, I've been captured." I groaned.
"WHAT!! By who?" Jack shouted in the mind link.
"Aurora's father is a werewolf hunter," I said.
"Son of a b***h, we'll get you out of there, Titus; hold on," Jack said. "I'll get the warriors together, and we'll--" I interrupted him.
"No! I can't leave until I have a chance to talk to Aurora," I said.
"You can talk to Aurora once I get you the f**k out of there," Jack said.
"No, her father will have her under lock and key once I'm free," I said, trying to explain what I was doing. "This is the only way I can speak to her,"
"Titus, you are risking your life. I will have the warriors ready as a precaution, and we will strike at your orders and get you the hell out." Jack said. "Erin isn't going to like this, but it's not her decision."
"Someone is coming. I'll mind-link you later." I cut Jack off before he could speak, and as I turned around, I saw Aurora's father, Joesph, staring at me.
"Well, someone's been a bad boy," he chuckled. You know Titus, I always knew there was something about you. You did pretty well masking yourself, and I usually pick it up as soon as I see one." His smile got even more prominent. "Do you want to know what gave you away?"
I stayed silent while I scoffed at him. I didn't know that Aurora's father was full of himself and an asshole. This guy is just bragging at this point.
"It was the night you came for dinner; it was a full moon. You should know how your kind reacts under its light and the power it gives you; it was your eyes, Titus; your eyes reacted to the moonlight. They shined, but it's very faint to the human eye, only if we pay close attention. However, I never would have guessed you were an Alpha. The ones I've encountered aren't exactly," He paused for a moment. "This was the most straightforward catch I have ever had. Daddy would be proud." He laughed.
I kicked the cage I was in; if I touched it, my skin would burn. The bars were silver laced with wolfsbane. Smart bastard.
"From what I know about your kind, you're still an Alpha in training." Joesph giggled.
"You don't know jack s**t about us." I spat at him.
"I know that you are going to stay the hell away from my daughter. I don't know what type of wolf s**t you think you have with her, but she has nothing to do with you are your filth. I will teach Aurora everything she needs to know about you, and eventually, I will let her kill you.
Joesph then grabbed a long taser and set it to the max, and began to shock me. "You will witness true horror, Alpha,"
(Aurora's POV)
I was in my room processing everything that had just happened. Did Titus kill my sister? I wanted to see him, get the truth, and look into his eyes. I saw my father going through a door that I didn't know existed, and I know that's where he's been keeping Titus, and as soon as my father comes out of that door, I will go in.
I waited until my father exited while not being seen, and I went through the door. I saw Titus in a cage, bloodied and beaten. I almost felt sorry for him. "Aurora," Titus said with shock, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry about how everything played out. It wasn't supposed to happen like this--" There was soon a long silence between us, then I spoke.
"Did you kill my sister?" I said, breaking the silence.
"What?! No!!" Titus said. I grabbed one of the pistols on the table and pointed it at him.
"I swear to god if you are lying to me." I clenched my teeth.
"Aurora, I can tell you exactly what happened that day, but first, I need you to put the gun down," Titus said.
I lowered the gun while still having it in my hands. My entire body screamed at me to put the gun down. But I still wanted Titus to pay for what he'd done."
"I was there that day. I was just a pup, around 12 when my family and I went on holiday. I got into an argument with my parents, as you do as a young pup, and I decided to go for a run. As soon as I got to the woods, I saw a large wolf towering over a young woman; he was growling at her, telling her not to scream. She didn't understand him, so she did exactly that. She screamed. Harming humans is against the law, let alone killing them. I ran back to inform my parents of what I had witnessed. We searched for the wolf, but we lost his scent. We sent our trackers after him, but there was nothing.
"Aurora, I'm so sorry. I should have been there sooner, done more than I had to save your sister. I dropped the gun and started to cry. It must have been killing him to see me in pain. That he would embrace me if these bars weren't separating us.
"Titus, I'm so sorry!" I said, wiping my tears off my face.
"Rory, you have nothing to be sorry for," Titus said.
"But look at what my father has done to you. You're bleeding! I can't believe that my father is capable of this.." I said.
"Aurora, don't worry about me. I'm just glad you came to see me." Titus smiled.
I cleared my throat. "Okay, I'm getting you the f**k out of this f*****g cell." I folded my arms. "I just need something to pick this lock," I said while pulling the chain. "I could use the gun I dropped on the floor, but that would make some unwanted noise. Besides, I don't even know how to use this thing." I laughed but stopped after realizing it wasn't funny. "That was not funny." I chuckled. "I could use a rock to smash this lock. No, that won't help." I said, talking to myself.
"Aurora, I can get myself out, and if you're wondering how I'm going to do that, please step back a little.
I stepped back and watched Titus open the cell door with just one punch. He winced in pain soon after. "Damn, silver and wolfsbane burns,"
"You just opened it!!!" I gasped. "With your fists!"
"I have so much to explain to you, Aurora." Titus smiled.
"Wait, if you could have gotten out this whole time. Why didn't you, Titus?" I asked him.
"I wanted to see you, and I needed you to hear my side of the story, the truth. I also knew your father wouldn't let me see you if I escaped," Titus said.
"And you would be right." I immediately turned around and saw my father.
Oh s**t.
