She pulled her phone out to dial his number but there was no response.
Her hands were shaky, "this has to be some type of prank."
She drove to the hotel room but the receptionist confirmed that there had never been a reservation for the rooms in the first place.
Ivy drove back to her house, there was only one way to find out what was happening.
The next morning she got to work earlier than usual.
"Oh my gosh, did you see the engagement pictures?"
"The two looked so hot together!"
"I always knew that he would end up with such a hot shot woman!"
All the employees at the office continued to gossip as they carried on with the news.
Ivy held her breath, that did not make any of this true.
Until she could get to the office on her own to confirm, she wasn't going to believe a word they were saying.
She got to his office but was greeted by his assistant, "I'm sorry but you cannot go in."
"What do you mean I can't go in?"
"It's the boss's orders that no one steps into his office today."
"What is that supposed to mean?" She frowned, "you know I'm his secretary."
"That was his orders."
"Tell him Ivy Ivrine is here, he will ask you to let me in."
"Especially you miss, that was his orders."
Ivy could feel herself going pale, "what are you talking about?"
"He said you might show up and asked me to give this."
He handed an envelope to her.
She opened it, it was a sack letter.
"What? Dom would never fire me, please I have to see him!"
Seeing that she wouldn't budge, he had no choice but to arrange the security men who forcefully threw her out of the office.
Ivy broke down into tears, after being with him for three years, now she had no job and nowhere to go.
She went back home, as all the articles were flooded by news of Dom's engagement.
She saw an interview he granted, "I'm finally glad to be reunited with the love of my life, the wedding should happen soon."
She broke down in tears, laying in bed without food or water.
Later, her best friend Avril showed up.
"Oh my God look at what a mess you've become, I rushed as soon as I saw the news! How could he do something so betraying?"
"He fired me, he even had his security kick me out."
"I always warned you against dating someone like him!" Avril put her hand over her mouth.
She was a short blonde just like Ivy.
"I know you can say that you told me so."
Avril wrapped her best friend in a hug.
Days passed and Ivy still wouldn't eat properly and now she had fallen ill, throwing up and burning up.
"I'm worried for your health, you can't keep doing this to yourself." Avril said, worry heavy in her heart.
"Leave me alone."
Ivy got to her feet to head into her bedroom but instead she lost her balance, passing out.
Avril screamed, panicking before rushing her down to the hospital.

Ivy opened her eyes on a hospital bed. Avril and the doctor were standing above her.
"What happened?" She wondered.
"You fainted!" Avril cried, "I really thought I lost you there, how could you do this to yourself!"
"What are you talking about?"
"You haven't been resting well, it took a heavy toll on your body, you need to be more careful now especially for the sake of the baby." The doctor said.
"Baby? What baby?" Ivy sat up, her eyebrows were furrowed in confusion.
"Didn't you know? You're four weeks pregnant."
