Located at the very heart of the building, the council chambers mirror the shape of the larger structure: angled interior walls creating a symmetrical central room with a domed roof from which hangs a truly grandiose chandelier. The opulence in the entry hall was one thing; the sheer weight of cut crystal and shining luminae stones here is another. I lower my eyes in disgust to observe the dais on the far side of the chamber. A single line of curved wood creates a semicircle of connecting desks, behind which the members of the Circle will sit. A half-dozen mages mill about behind the desks, chatting with each other. The rest of the room is filled with carved wooden benches facing the dais, except for a small, boxed enclosure directly before it. The walls of the box are carved with sigils
