"Your mate is very pretty" Dante said, and I nodded.
"Yes, in my millennium of being on this earth, I have never seen someone come even close to her beauty" I say softly, taking a sip of whiskey.
"Who knew, the rough and heartless Ace Phoenix would ever be pleased with a women, huh?" Dante laughs, and I chuckle.
"You don't need to have a heart to notice beauty, uncle" I say, and he stops laughing.
I couldn't show vulnerability. I wouldn't allow myself to... but yet, I knew that it was more than just physical appearances that drew me closer to Skye. It was deeper than the eyes could see. Yet, I wouldn't mention that to anybody.
