Chapter 12 | Magical Night

"What's what?" I was embarrassed by how husky my voice sounded.

"Your eyes... I think I saw them glow unnaturally bright for a second."

He stopped kissing me and was looking deeply into my eyes as if waiting for something. Not sure what he was talking about.

"My eyes?"

"Yeah, they were bright gold or something."

I couldn't help but laugh. My eyes were cinnamon brown and would look like honey in the sunlight from what Megan and Benji told me.

"I have seen them turn to something subtler than this before. When you drive around the training grounds before leaving for work, they change color when you look at me.
