Eleanor refused her. "I cannot let you throw your whole life away because of Warren." Iris looked at Eleanor's reddened eyes and wanted to say more, but Eleanor and Warren's father were already walking away, leaning on each other for support. Iris watched their backs and then turned her gaze back to Warren's headstone. In the end, she went and bought a pair of wedding rings anyway.
