Once Lucas knew from Shane that Iris had already left, there was no reason to go back to the hotel. Lucas walked out of the hospital and hailed a cab straight to the airport. On the way, he checked the earliest flight to Paris. It was departing in thirty minutes. Even if he rushed, there was no way he would make it in time. But he had her address in Paris. He knew where her law firm was located. He had already made the decision to go after her. A few extra hours would not change anything.
He just did not understand why she had decided to leave so suddenly. The case was not yet resolved. She was supposed to stay in New York until it was finished. The question nagged at him, but there was no way to get an answer now. He had nothing left. No resources. No people to investigate on his behalf.
