ice cream

460 Words
By closing hour, Ethan and I stopped by our favorite ice cream parlor, greeted by the sweet aroma of waffle cones and chocolate. Who doesn't love ice cream? We ordered two cones and, as we walked out licking our treats, Ethan mentioned his college plans. "Still thinking about UCLA?" I asked. "Yeah, but my parents want me to stay local." "Follow your dreams," I encouraged. "Easy for you to say, art star," he teased. We laughed, and after finishing our ice cream, Ethan glanced at his watch. "Early morning tomorrow, don't forget, Ave," he reminded, teasing. "I know, I know." "Thanks for the ice cream." "No problem, Princess Ave... anytime," he said, and I smiled before we parted ways. I entered my house; everywhere was quiet. "Has she gone to work already? I know I shouldn't have followed that big head for ice cream," I muttered. Then I saw a letter: "Dear daughter of mine, I waited for you to come, but I didn't see you, so I left. Sorry, hun. I left some food in the fridge next to the chocolate brownies on the left." When I heard "brownies," I smiled. "...take your food and don't touch the brownies. I'll be back tomorrow morning. Love ya." "Classic mom." I went up to my room, showered, and changed into comfy pajamas before dropping myself onto the bed. I did my homework, then my phone suddenly rang. It was "Till Infinity" - Ethan. "Hello, Ethan!" I said loudly, pretending to be angry. "Hey, Princess, did I wake you up?" he asked calmly. "What's wrong with this boy? He's never angry. I'm trying to make up drama here." "You were about to doze off, duff head," I said jokingly. "Come on, I know you don't sleep early," Ethan said. "Captain Obvious," I snarled, and he laughed. Seriously, what's funny? "Come on, you're my best friend, duh. Why wouldn't I know everything about you? I can guess the color of underwear you wore," he joked. "What! Ethan, what's the meaning of what you just said? Get out of my phone!" I said angrily. "Oops... sorry, Ave. Looks like you're really angry now. Thought you were faking it like before." He sure knows how to get on my nerves. Another call was coming in - "My Love," Jasper. "Hey, big head, cut the phone. I want to speak to my boyfriend," I said. "Seriously, are you ditching me for him?" Ethan pouted. "Yes," I answered firmly, and he hissed jokingly before cutting the phone. "Hey, babe." I spent over two hours on the phone with Jasper before falling asleep with my phone on my cheek. Weird, right? Don't blame me; when you're in love, we do crazy things. Authoress Bãddië Mêë: Stay tuned, lovelies!
