Two Years Later – November
"Liam! Stop running in the house!"
"But Mom, I'm going to be late for school!"
"You have twenty minutes!"
"That's basically late!"
I shook my head. Eight years old and already dramatic.
Emma appeared in the kitchen doorway. Four years old. In a princess dress. Again.
"Mama, can I wear this to preschool?"
"Baby, you wore that yesterday. And the day before. And..."
"But I'm a princess!"
"Princesses also wear regular clothes sometimes."
"Not this princess."
I looked at Damien. "Help me."
He was feeding our youngest. James. Two years old. Currently wearing more oatmeal than he was eating.
"You're on your own," Damien said. "I'm dealing with the food situation here."
