I'm looking up in the big blue sky, gazing at those birds flying freely. I then make a sigh and sit down on the ground.
After having my encounter with the demon king. I started to feel I bit hopeless. I look at my status and compare it to hers.
I have no way of winning against her. I'm currently level 72 and have learned much magic. Still, compared to the demon king who in level 999.
There no way of winning.
She must be right, the only way to defeat her is to find the creator and make a wish for her to disappeared.
Then, I'm wasting my time on this ship?
I'm currently riding a ship toward World tree Island with a team of heroes. It's called an expedition because there is a part of the island that is never been seen before.
"M-Mayu... A-Are you okay?"
Said Hikari who is currently feeling sick and having trouble standing up.
"Yeah, I'm okay, but looks like you're the one who needs to ask."
"I'm okay, I just have some minor motion sickness."
Looking at your current situation. I will say that is not minor.
This ship we're currently riding is the king's property and he let us use it to reach our destination. He is also supportive enough to give us food and water that is good for one week.
We're going to have a week in grinding on that Island and exploring its unknown locations.
With this one week, I wonder how much I will level up.
"I can see the island now!"
"It's really big and that must be the famous world tree."
Looking at the island I immediately notice the landmark. The giant tree is located in the center of the Island. It's so big it reaches the clouds and sky.
This world is full of wonders.
The ship then landed on the side and all of us go down.
"Wow! The sand is so white."
Kaede took off her shoes and start walking in the sand. She started playing with the water and play around.
"Well, it's such a waste to go straight to our mission. Let's have fun and enjoy this scenery."
Mashiro said and took off his shoes.
"But the people are in danger and we need to do our best to save humanity. we can't waste time."
Nana said as he grabs Mashiro and Kaede's collar from behind.
Yoshiaki took off his clothes and then started swimming on the beach.
"No, you too... Yoshiaki."
"Hikaru is still feeling sick and resting. We need our party members to start the expedition. Maybe we can at least enjoy this beach for a while.
I said to convince Nana.
Nana looks at my eyes and then gives up. She then took her shoes and change her outfit to her swimsuit. Kaede also changes her clothes and wears her cute swimsuit. The boys just wear shorts.
I don't to be left out and wear my own cute swimsuit.
If it's not cute then what's the point.
We started to have a little fun. We roasted meat, swim in the sea and play some games.
It is really fun and full of smiles.
But fun times need to end.
We put back our equipment and get ourselves ready to explore.
"Everyone, sorry I got to sleep. I really feel sick."
Said Hikaru.
He then turns his eyes and look around and saw the mess we made while having fun.
"It's unfair! All of you have fun on this beautiful beach and leave me out. I thought all of you are my friends!"
Hikaru started to protest.
"Well, it's your fault you're asleep resting. And we got bored waiting for you."
Mashiro explains.
Well, we never wait for him. We go straight in having fun.
"Is that true?"
Hikaru asked us.
We all synchronized nodded. We need to lie, to avoid such conflict we are the only people on this island having a quarrel is not really necessary.
"Don't worry about it, we're staying here for a week. We can still have fun after the expedition."
Kaede said to lift Hikaru's spirit.
In the end, Hikaru agreed. Maybe is because Kaede is the one who said it. He is really blushing to see Kaede's smile.
"Then let's have fun Kaede..."
"No no no, it's with everyone."
Did Kaede reject him? Or did she avoid it?
Well, I never got a love life in my school days. I really don't get it.
My face started to got hotter and red as I remember my dream before. The dream where started dating Retto in the real world.
What's wrong with me it's just a dream.
We only got a fun time for few hours and get ourselves ready in griding.
Our party consists of six members. Kaede will play as the support responsible for healing and enhancing the party members. Nana will be the assassin because of her high agility. Mashiro is the all-rounder of the party. Hikaru will be the attacker. Yoshiaki will be the attacker and tank.
I should be the tank but they did let me.
Well, they didn't know my level. And I don't have a plan in revealing it. Maybe because I don't completely trust people. I'm one of those people who have trust issues.
As long as I can make myself stronger. I will do it so that I can defeat Eriko and have my revenge for what she did to Meily.
The image of the demon king appeared in my head.

Save the people in this world.
They said that people reincarnated in this world are born to save this world. If that's the case, just like the heroes. I also have this goal. This goal to defeat evil in this world and end this endless war of humans and demons.
It's very heroic for me, but I will find out if it's really for me while I'm in the middle of this journey.
Entering the forest part of the Island. We immediately encounter monsters. It's a giant insect monster raging from level 15 to level 20. They seem more powerful than the heroes because of the level difference, but the insect is still an insect. Compare to the heroes who have the intelligence of a human. They have no match.
A giant mantis then attacks Mashiro. He then made some distance and switch with Nana to cut its legs so that the monster will lose its mobility. Then Hikaru charges his magic to his sword and slashes the mantis.
"Sword skill: Warrior s***h!"
The mantis was killed and the experience was distributed to us.
"Wow, I level up four times just in one day. It's amazing!"
Hikaru was overjoyed.
"I level up nine times already."
Kaede said with a proud face, but still cute for some reason.
"Looks like Kaede level up faster than anyone. ell, I don't like competition."
Yoshiaki then offers his hand to Mashiro who is on the ground.
"Well, I only level up once I wonder why. I need to put more effort I think."
Mashiro said to himself.
Nana then turns her glance toward me and asked.
"How about you? Mayu? What is your level?"
"My just around your level."
I said so that they won't know my true level. I don't want to stand out. Maybe they will think I'm bragging to my level.
But I totally understand it now.
This ability of mine called Pride.
I'm just playing as a mage and barely attack the monsters, but I'm acquiring more experience points than these heroes.

Well, this might be big but it's nothing to compare to the demon king. If I battle her I will instantly lose.
"Mayu what are you doing let's continue."
Yoshiaki called me because I'm being left out.
"Yes."
I said and followed them quickly.
Still, I felt guilty, but if they know that I'm at this level. They will feel weak to themselves and might lose their motivation.
It's a good thing that they didn't know my level.
We will survive on this Island for sure after all.
