Chapter 8: Queen's cry

In front of the massive door of the crystal dungeon. The man called the master of wind appears. The S-rank adventurer and a ninja from the capital named Gale arrived.
He put his palm in front of the giant door and push it with a powerful wind. The door opened and he enters it without hesitation.
“This is odd, it’s too silent here. In his kind of dungeon. One or two monsters should be appearing in front of me.”
Gale muttered.
The cold breeze from the deep part came and put chills to Gale’s body. He pulls up his scarf toward half of his face.
“So cold… It’s already been two days since the prince left the kingdom to capture this dungeon. I must hurry to catch up with them. There is a possibility that the prince is already in the middle part of the dungeon.”
Gale started running. While running he scented and reach a lake.
“A lake on the first floor? According to the map. A lake should not exist in this part of the dungeon. It’s also dark I don’t have much vision.”
From his bag Gale get a torch and lit it. As the flame started to grown and light up the surroundings.
Gale never expected that the first thing he will say is the dead body of the kingdom knights. The water beneath his foot is not the lake but the blood of this hundred knights getting killed. He was horror-struck at the moment and close his eyes for a moment.
“What’s going on? I thought the prince bring many A-rank knights. How is this possible? The prince, I need to find the prince immediately. I have a bad feeling about this happening.”
Gale started to search for prince Alexander and run around the first floor. Besides the slain body of the knights. Fearsome monster’s body was seen.
Gale’s eye started to look so desperate and keep searching.
And then…
All hopes he has to see the prince are all gone.
After seeing the prince armor covered in blood.
“Prince Alexander? This can’t be.”
Said Gale.
Gale turned his glance not so far from the armor and sawbones and flesh that seems to be a leftover of a monster. Even it’s only one hand left. Gale picks it up and covers it with a piece of cloth.
Gale didn’t even know how his ability to face the queen after seeing the fate of Prince Alexander.
From the deep level of the dungeon. A powerful ominous strikes Gales body.
That moment Gale run fast as he can and didn’t even turn his eye’s behind him. This is the first time in his entire life. A considered genius in the ninja school. He runs like a coward in front of an enemy. He will put himself as a disgrace but he has no choice but to run.
If he didn’t run that moment.
He might turn into a dead man.
Returning to the capital with disgrace expression. He kneels in front of the king and queen to tell the news.
“Gale what’s with that expression? What happened to you?”
Asked the king.
“I’m sorry majesty, I’m unable to fulfill my task.”
The queen then realized it and put her hand to her mouth.
The king was confused and asked once again.
“I’m not following any of his. When did I order you to go on a mission?”
“It’s not your order my king, The queen gives me a special mission to look for the prince in his journey inside the crystal dungeon. But the moment I arrived there. It’s too late, the troops is wipe down and I can’t do anything.”
Gale said.
“Then how about Alexander my child?”
Gale gives the cloth and as the queen opened it. She saw a hand.
“What is this?! Are you trying to scare the queen?!”
Said the king's adviser.
The king also realized and look down.
“This is Alexander's hand, tell me what did you see in the dungeon?”
“Slain monsters and humans. I’m a coward and didn’t even see it clearly. I didn’t even want to look at it. There I felt a powerful ominous aura and that presence alone told me that I should avoid this. I’m scared of death I run away. I’m not worthy of being an S-rank adventurer. Your majesty I hereby, give up my title as the wind master.”
“The sage once told me that the crystal dungeon holds a power that one man never imagined was possible. That’s why I wanted to give a man who captures the dungeon a special reward to marry one of my daughters”
The king was so desperate in this so-called power his willingness to bestow any man in any status to join the royal family.
Still, the sad Queen will not recover immediately after knowing the news. The queen started to drop tears from her eyes and downhearted in the death of her own child.
“Alexander is not coming back anymore… He's not coming back anymore.”
Queen said.
After the death of Prince Alexander spread through the kingdom many people attempting to capture the crystal dungeon retreat in fear.
Still, many people from different kingdom and land wanted to obtain power in the crystal dungeon. These people entered the dungeon in different entrances and make their journey inside the crystal dungeon.
Going back to me and Retto. After defeating the monsters we encounter we reunited and take a rest. Drink some freshwater to refresh our tired self. We also got a feast, Retto and I decided to roast the coral serpents body and eat it till we are contented.
Then I got curious.
“Retto you said this dungeon is dangerous right?”
“Well, did I say something like that? But this place sure is dangerous. Dungeons are said to be a lair of monsters. When a dungeon occurs it must be capture immediately. So that monster will never attack people around.”
“Then why did you reject cute Sophia?”
Retto vomited after hearing my words.
“Are you into Sophia but acting Tsundere?”
“What are you saying? Sophia is my friend but I went far when I drag her in this dungeon out of my desperation.”
“Then, why Retto is desperate?”
“It’s because I was given to grab a future that should be impossible for a mere peasant like myself. The King of Grandellia gives a royal order. The one who captures the Crystal dungeon and obtains the power to destroy the world will be given a chance to marry one of his daughters.”
Eh? Does Retto want to marry one of the princesses? Is this princess really cute his willing to replace Sophia? I want to see this princess. Also, what is this? This dungeon has the power to destroy the world.
This place is full of powerful monsters but the power to destroy the world is very overpowered. It’s like a cheat ability. Expected to the game master of this shitty game.
“Then, if the kingdom gives a royal order then you’re not the only man in this dungeon right now.”
“That’s true that’s why I’m in hurry. This dungeon has 20 entrance and four kingdoms in this continent want to obtain the power to destroy the world. Many powerful people are already dispatched to capture this dungeon from different countries. The only thing I’m worried about is when a demon king came to capture this dungeon.”
Said Retto.
I see this would have a demon king and kingdom. If there is a demon king then Hero should be existing.
But judging from Retto’s eyes’s I guess this is a mission he needs to finish.
Even he is a rude guy and doesn’t want to help me out in this dungeon. I’m still rooting for you. Retto-san is a bit cute after all. He fighting romantically for the girl he loves the most. I don't hate that. I wish I found something like that in this world.
