The King and Queen visit our small village. Riding in the carriage. I saw a peak of the most beautiful flower I ever saw. The Princess of the kingdom Grandellia. Princess Charlotte Veilheart. Her eye’s dreamy eye’s, her light-toned skin, childish face. Her beauty simply captivated me in those little moments.

Unlike those people, I’m just a normal peasant and I never got to school like the nobles. Still, I don’t like it staying like this. I might be a peasant. But I want to prove that I can be something. To become someone that has the right to protect the princess.

“Monsters should not be able to come to this location.”
Retto get some potion bottle in his pocket and drink it. Replenishing his HP, he then drinks so MP potion to replenish his MP. After that, he cast healing magic to heal his wounds.
“I can’t believe that monsters level. I’m still weak indeed. My squad sure is still weak. They cast all their magic and skill, but still that Ice salamander is still able to do such an attack. If I’m not fast enough those people are already dead meat… I found out that using area-wide teleportation magic consumes lots of MP. That’s maybe the reason I’m not able to withstand the power earlier.”
As he rests on the ground Retto looks to this path. The path has a trail of blood and Retto smiled and realized the thing that might happen.
The smell of the blood attracts monsters and Retto’s blood became a way for the monsters to locate him.
Crimson red eye’s appeared in the shadows and the monsters revealed them selves.

Retto check the level and stats of the monsters and stand up. He pulled his sword and look toward the monster with fearless eyes.

“Just a low ranking monsters… Still, these monsters will serve as a good practice with my sword.”
Said Retto confidently and then lost it after seeing how many silver wolf followed him.
The number of the silver wolf is above a hundred and counting. The silver wolf is all looking to Retto like the only food in the world.

“Why do you want to become a knight?”
The king asked Retto before he became a kingdom official knight.
“I would like to protect the princess with all my life.”
“Protect my daughter? A peasant like you, protect my daughter? Pull your sword and learn from your foolish decision.”
Retto pulls his sword like the king asked and make a stance. The king pulled his sword and in an instant Retto was blown away with great force. Retto was slammed to the wall and fell down to the ground.
Indescribable pain was seeing through Retto’s eyes.
“A weakling like you will never be able to protect a princess.”
Retto heard those words and never give up. He then stands up and takes a stance once again.
“I won’t give up. I will become strong!”
Retto said to the king that day.
The king smiled and attack Retto once again until he lost consciousness.
Day after that, Retto wake up in the clinic, and there Sophia is nursing him.
Retto wake up and look at Sophia’s tearful eye’s. She then jumps and hugged Retto with her arms.
“I’m so glad that you’re okay. I thought you’re never gonna wake up after receiving many attacks from the king.”
Sophia is so worried she hugged Retto and squeezed him hard.
“Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! My body still hurt. I’m going to die if you keep on hugging me.”
“Sorry Retto-san, I’m very happy that you wake up. Also, I have a piece of good news for you. The king give this letter to me and said that you should open it when you wake up.”
Said Sophia and give the letter to Retto.
Retto opened the letter and read the message.
“The king was impressed to your toughness and unyielding will. He said you’re going to became a Knight when you’re able to hand your sword.”
After becoming a knight, Retto work hard and pile many merits and climb his way and got offered to become a captain one a new knight squad.

Retto cast magic with his sword and defeat many silver wolves in one sweep.

Multiple slashes around him that able to cut all the monsters in all directions.

Retto continues to defeat the pack of wolves with his might. Then the boss of the wolves arrived. The boss of the wolf . It’s 10 times the size of the normal wolf and its white looks tough. It’s claws and eyes are like diamonds.
The wolf jumps to the walls and attack Retto from behind.
“Sword skill: Dragon strike.”
His blade connected to the claws of the wolf and with the impact Retto was blown away. He immediately stands up and wipes the blood on his face.
“Attacking from behind? This monster can think strategically. My status check skill is been block too. I never think such a high monster is living in this dungeon. This dungeon surely one of the hardest dungeons to capture.”
The wolf then makes a huge howling.
The sound nearly destroys Retto’s eardrums, causing a stun. Retto place his hand into his ears and cover. He lowered his defense and that moment was taken advantage of by the wolf and attack him with a dash.
Retto receive fatal damage and used healing magic. His barrier magic that covers his body was destroyed in that attack.
“My barrier was destroyed with one strike. If I’m not careful enough, this wolf will eat me as his dinner.”
The wolf then make a howling again.
“Create Water!”
A huge ball of water appeared and followed by that magic Retto quickly cast flame magic inside the water.
“Fire ball!”
The fireball evaporated the water creating thick fog making a smokescreen.
“Sword skill: Mirage s***h!”
Multiple illusions of Retto was made. In all direction he seems to attack the Diamond dire wolf.
The Diamond dire wolf attacks the illusion with its claws but failed to attack the real one. Retto landed in the ground that can’t be seen by the wolf vision.
He cast one of his ultimate skill.
“Ultimate sword skill: g******e Slash.”
Retto repeatedly s***h the Diamond dire wolf in max speed. The wolf barrier got destroyed and the diamonds in his body crumble into pieces. The continues s***h continue and Retto mercilessly cut the diamond dire wolf. Retto’s skill finished with the final s***h.
Retto catch his breath and walked away. Knowing that he already killed the diamond dire wolf. He became arrogant and look away. He didn’t know that the diamond dire wolf is still alive and waiting for a chance to attack from behind.
The diamond dire wolf silently sneak and with it’s last claw the diamond dire wolf is about to kill Retto. The moment is so fast and Retto can’t react fast because of his tiredness.
“This can’t be the end.”

Am I going to die in this kind of place?
I can just use my teleportation magic to return home and come back here when I’m stronger. Why I’m such a stubborn human?

Out of nowhere a fireball is cast toward Retto, the fire pushed his body making it possible to dodge the wolf attack.
Retto turns around quickly and with his sword, he delivers his real final attack.

He cut through the wolf head.
That was close. If it’s not because of that fireball, I’m already killed. I wonder who cast that fireball.

I said with proud tone.
That is the first time I and Retto meet.
