Best Friends Forever (Fun Trip)

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, Lucretia sat in the living room all dressed and anxiously waiting for Philip.

"Lucretia...?" her dad came calling and went over to her. “Your mum told me you are going on a fun fair with a friend."

"Yes dad–” She replied, her mouth curving into a smile. “ I'm going with Philip." she eluded.

"Okay Sweetheart,” Gilbert replied, returning the smile. “Then I guess I will be meeting this Philip you’ve been blowing trumpet about." He added.

"Yes dad..." she replied with a giggle

Just then, they heard the door bell rang.

"It must be Philip dad..." Lucretia said, rushing to the door with her dad trailing after her.

Lucretia opened the door and they were met with a bright smile from a lady and a young boy.

"Good morning Mr. Gilbert, I'm Raina and this is my son Philip, a friend to your daughter." The lady muttered with a smile plastered on her lips.

"Welcome, please come in." Gilbert replied, stepping aside for Rains and her son. She nodded and they sauntered in whiles Gilbert closed door.

Mrs Raina and Philip followed Lucretia and her dad into the house. Mrs. Angelica joined the group she she heard the voices of their visitors.

"From the expression on Lucretia's face, I guess you are Philip." said Mrs. Angelica

Philip nodded with a smile

"This is Angelica, my wife." said Mr Gilbert to Mrs. Raina

"Nice to meet you Mrs. Angelica, I'm Mrs. Raina, Philip's mother." she introduced, smiling

"Nice to meet you too." she replied

"We are here for Lucretia, my family and I are going for a fun fair and Philip invited her to join."

"Sure..., she has been waiting for you for a while now." Mrs. Angelica replied

Lucretia quickly went for her bag and left with Philip and her mum. Mr and Mrs. Woods went to see them off to the car

"Take care of yourself Sweetheart and be good." said Mr. Gilbert to her daughter

"Okay dad..." she replied and joined Philip and her parents in the car. She waved her parents as they drove off.

The journey continued with Philip and Lucretia singing, laughing and giggling in the back seat.

It was around 1:00pm when they pulled up at the fun fair. The place was filled with lots of families having fun.

"Wow....this is so cool..." exclaimed Lucretia

Mr. Antonio found a spot and packed the car and they all got off. Lucretia and Philip in excitement ran off into the fair

"Hey....kids..., wait for us.." exclaimed Mr and Mrs Hills as they rushed after them.

They went to visit different play sites, They first went to the merry - go - round, then the bouncing castle, the slide and other play sites. Some hours later, they came down to have some snacks

"Are you guys having fun? asked Mrs. Raina.

" Yes...." they both replied with a giggle

They quickly ran back to play sites after having their snacks.

"Be careful.... kids...!" Mrs Raina called after them.

Philip and Lucretia had so much fun. They ran back to their Mr and Mrs Hills feeling exhausted.

"I guess it's time to go back now. It's already getting late." said Mr. Antonio

"Okay..." Lucretia and Philip replied racing back to the car

"I won..." exclaimed Philip when he got to the car

"No..., I won..." exclaimed Lucretia panting

"Okay....kids..., get in and let's get going."

Lucretia and Philip took their site in the back seat and they drove off. Within 30mins of the drive, they both drifted off to sleep with Lucretia leaning on Philip's shoulder and Philip's head on Lucretia's. Mrs and Mrs Hills starred at them through the mirror and smiled

"They look so exhausted" said Mrs Raina

"Sure they do." replied Mr. Antonio smiling

Mr and Mrs Woods were watching television when they heard the bell rang.

"I think they are back." said Angelica

"Okay...., let me get that." replied Gilbert and left to the door.

He opened the door and saw a man carrying his daughter.

"Hi.., I'm Antonio, Philip's dad. Nice to meet you, I'm here to return your daughter. No need to worry about her, she had already had lunch." said Mr Antonio and gave Lucretia over to her dad.

"Okay..., thank you. I'm Gilbert, nice to meet you too." he replied

They shared pleasantries and he took his leave. Gilbert shut the door and took his daughter to bed

"I can see she really enjoyed herself." said Angelica

"She sure did." he replied

Years passed and Lucretia and Philip grew fond of each other and became best pals. They became closely knitted together, doing almost everything together. They were like magnets together, wherever Philip goes, Lucretia was also there.
