1541 Words
As soon as General Manager Johan Morverick vehemently criticized Christina, Marcel and everyone were shocked. Marcel rolled his eyes at John. He suddenly remembered that he had forgotten to tell John about Christina. He was just about to explain to John when suddenly Christina stood up and took all responsibility for herself. She said: "I sincerely apologize. Everything is subjective." Marcel and everyone in the sales department immediately explained to Christina, but General Manager John shouted: “Don't try to explain Christina's mistake. Everyone is giving Christina a serious loss in the eyes of the Board of Directors. Nothing would have happened if the Sales Department had done its job well. That is your biggest weakness.” General Manager John turned to look at Christina. She tried to suppress her anger. However, a displeased look was still evident on his face. Christina silently endured John's criticism. Even Marcel and the staff in the sales department are jointly responsible. A heavy atmosphere pervaded the meeting room. John kept his eyes on Christina and Marcel sometimes. He saw Marcel's clenched fist. General Manager John suddenly went straight to another issue that everyone had expected. With a twisted smile on his lips, he said: “As you all know, the Human Resources department is currently assigned by the Sales Manager. The implementation of retirement procedures according to the regime. Although I tried to hold on to him, perhaps recently he had a new hobby, so he decided to retire after more than forty years of service to our company. Of course, a country cannot go without a king. A room cannot go a day without a leader. Therefore, the Group Chairman and I discussed for a long time deciding on the next person to hold the position of Sales Director, which is an excellent choice. reasonable for the long-term future of the company.” Marcel also feels happy and excited again. Marcel smiled at Christina. The whole salesroom had a lot of fun. But after listening to the General Manager finish, they were disappointed and dumbfounded. The image of General Director John's dark, wrinkled lips kept appearing with the words: "My son will take on the position of Sales Manager. I hope everyone helps it, especially Christina Hanson. I hope you will support me more with your ability and experience. I firmly believe that the Sales Department will soon have leaps and bounds.” General Director John's words immediately surprised everyone. No one could believe what they had just heard from him. In particular, Marcel was just about to stand up to speak when the General Director motioned for him to sit down. Still, the orders of the most powerful person in the meeting room could not stop him: “Why such a sudden thing? A change in the leadership of the Sales department, but the General Director did not notify our Board of Directors and the Sales Department. I was the one to nominate Christina Hanson for the Sales Manager position, and it was like a splash of cold water on my face. General Manager, I don't think you're… like this.” General manager John quickly assuaged Marcel's anger by lowering his voice and then began spewing out statements that left listeners unable to argue further: “This is not my opinion. The sales manager and Christina must understand, right? That was also decided by the Chairman of the Group last night. But all of Christina's personnel files were sent by me to the Presidential Office a long time ago. However, Christina's performance yesterday caused the Group President to rethink the position she could take. I know this doesn't make much sense to the Sales Manager and Christina Hanson, but I trust you two. With the role and honor, I can assure you that everything will be fine.” Marcel slams his hand on the table and says, “But do you know how much work Christina has put in? The fire fighting contract for the company was also brought back by her. If not exaggerated, it is also thanks to her that his CEO seat has been safe until now. However, he left his son to take over as Sales Director. He rebuked Christina as an extremely inhumane game of back-and-forth. How did you know that Christina's mother was hospitalized last night, and that is why she could not receive General Manager Jonathan. I'm disappointed in you, General Manager. I really couldn't believe it.” General Manager John glared at Marcel and said: “This is business, not social work. I am an entrepreneur, not a sponsor or activist. I judge an employee by their ability and results achieved, not by other things. That is a company and not a Cinderella reality show where I have to consider the plight of other people to be able to consider the terrible consequences they have caused. Am I wrong or not?” The Morverick Corporation boardroom was filled with the eerie atmosphere of Marcel and John. Everyone was silent at the words of General Manager John Morverick. Only Sales Director Marcel expressed his objection because there was not much time left to sit in the position of Sales Director. Others, unlike Marcel, did not dare to have any attitude towards General Manager John. The atmosphere inside the meeting room suddenly became unusually tense, and the confrontation between the General Manager and Marcel began to c****x. The two most powerful men in the company looked at each other with the unfriendly look they should have. The situation right now makes everyone scared and suffocated. Marcel suddenly turned to look at her and said: “Christina Hanson, what do you think about the Group Chairman's sudden decision and the CEO?” For the first time in her life, Christina felt uncomfortable with the eyes of those around her. An abstract painting created from glimmers of pity and contentment. Perhaps General Manager John's sudden decision fanned the flames of anger and long-hidden subtle emotions. Christina's sad story suddenly became someone else's, a happy story. Christina Hanson suddenly clenched her fist. She just wanted to run out of that conference room immediately. She looked around. Everyone's attention was on her. Christina Hanson thoughtlessly smiled: “High-level human resource work has always been under the authority of the General Director and the President's Office, so I dare not discuss it. And I don't see this decision as sudden. Anyway, the promotion or transfer of anyone to a senior staff position is done in secret. I feel pleased that the Chairman c*m General Director of the Group has paid great attention to the Sales Department. I hope to be able to cooperate and accompany the new Sales Director very well.” The bitter thanks from Christina Hanson's mouth made everyone feel much more heartbroken. Christina Hanson has saved corporate stress once again. She knew that if she dared to speak her mind, her current position would be challenging. How can a child like Christina Hanson, who only strives for her abilities, compete with the son of the CEO of the company? She understands her identity very well, so she can only smile and accept her fate. If Christina Hanson is to blame, she can only blame God for being so unfair to her. That broken moment stuck in her mind like a terrible curse she couldn't break. The meeting ended in everyone's prolonged disappointment. General Manager John purposely walked up to Christina's side to shake her hand and say goodbye. The smile faded from Christina's lips like a wilted flower as she faced General Manager John. Marcel walked up to Christina and said, “I'm sorry. I think you should have a day off. Don't worry. It can't end like this. I will be ready to fight with you until the last moment in this Company.” Christina smiled at Marcel: “I'm fine. Don't stress things out. We still have to live, right? At least you don't have to worry about yesterday's project right now. Most importantly, I'm still working here. The current situation is fine like this.” Christina tried to stay calm, but Marcel knew she wasn't acceptable. He thought that a day off would help her calm down before facing the man who had replaced her in the future. Christina said goodbye to everyone. She left the company as quickly as possible. Marcel is still the one watching Christina behind his back. He sighed at his helplessness. From the top floor, General Manager John looked down at the large courtyard where Christina was just a tiny doll striding through the company gate. He smiled and went back to his desk as if nothing had happened. Christina did not rush to catch a taxi. She just walked down the street like a zombie with a fuzzy mind. Occasionally sighing, looking slightly into the distance, she felt that life was as uncertain and obscure as the way the long line of cars in New York kept rolling without knowing where the destination was. She stood up, deciding she didn't want to go home. Christina just strolled because this was the only thing that made her comfortable at the moment. Christina strode from the bus stop to Central Park.
