The days went by quickly and Gonzalo counted, looking forward to receiving news from Mara. Up until now his friend, Roy, made fun of his decision and taunted him.
Things moved smoothly in the palace, except for times Lupe deliberately got Ashina in trouble with the Queen, which left Ashina severely tortured.
Arlin on his own path, still secretly trained Ashina, against all odds. The entire army were preparing for a war with Dynasty Howlers. There wasn't any open war declared but they needed to prepare for the worse.
Gonzalo did his best to avoid Ashina in recent days. On one of his road trips he intentionally passed by the drunk's house and again met him.
