The Alpha's Abused Mate

Chapter 6

Kate POV

After everything she had been through, Kate never thought she would see her best friend again. They had grown up as neighbors and had been inseparable, until Emma had disappeared. After meeting her mate the pain of losing her best friend had dwindled some, until the abuse started. She would cry for Emma every night, just hoping her best friend would hear her and save her.

Now that she escaped her ex and found Emma again she was never going to leave her side. But now there was the issue of her second chance mate. Did she really want to reject him? The pain that she saw on his face was genuine and true when he told her she could reject him. Kate wasn’t sure she wanted to though.

“Hey Emma, what should I do about Wolf being my second chance mate? Do you think I should give him a chance or reject him?” Kate asked

Emma looked over at her from where she was by the closet. “I think you should give him a chance. Tell him you want to take things slow. He will respect your decision and won’t force you to do anything you aren’t ready for. I gave Lucas a chance and I am happy I did, especially after what happened to me. His love and support is helping me to heal from my trauma.”

Kate was confused. “What happened to you, Emma”

Emma walked over and sat next to Kate on the bed. Sighing she said “I was r***d by a crazy rogue Alpha. He had beat me to the point I almost died afterwards. But I survived, a few days ago I found out I was pregnant. That is when I met Lucas, he brought me here to protect me. Him and Wolf were willing to protect me even before Lucas found out I was his mate. Which is one of the reasons you should give Wolf a chance. He is a great guy and very protective, he and Lucas won’t let your ex hurt you ever again.”

Kate was stunned, her best friend had been rapped and here she was being her rock. “Emma you are so amazing.” Kate cried. “I can’t believe you went through that, and yet here you are being my rock and salvation.”

Kate was sobbing at this point, she was so tired of crying and being afraid. She wanted to go back to the time where she was confident and strong, instead of weak and broken. Emma held Kate while she cried.

Suddenly there was a mock on the door, startling both woman.

“Come in!” Called Emma

The door opened a c***k and Wolf popped his head in. “You girls ready to go shopping.”

At the sight of Wolf, Kate tensed a little. “Relax a little. He isn’t like our ex mate, he won’t hurt us.” Lexi, Kates wolf, said.

“I know he won’t I am just scared.” Kate replied.

“We are almost ready. I need to get Kate some actual clothes. Could you stay here while I do that?” Asked Emma

Wolf took a step into the room and stopped. “Sure I can do that.”

When Emma left Kate sighed “Wolf can we talk?”

“Sure, what would you like to talk about Kat?”

Kate smiled at the nickname. “I want to give us a chance. But I am still scared, so I want to take things slow. So for now I am not going to reject you.”

The smile on Wolfs face told Kate that she had made the right decision. He was so happy and excited, that he could barely contain his joy.

“I want to hug you so bad right now Kat, but I am not going to. I will respect your wish to take things slow. We will move at your pace, I will only touch you when you tell me you are ready. I want you to know that I already love you, and will wait for you for the rest of our lives if I have too. My dear, beautiful mate.”
