The Alpha's Abused Mate

Chapter 2

Elizabeth

The moment Lucas told Elizabeth Emma was his mate she was relieved. Elizabeth knew she would be safe with him. Elizabeth just hoped he wouldn’t reject her for being human.

“Please don’t reject her. She needs you.” Elizabeth mind linked.

“I will never reject her. She is my goddess given mate. How could you think I could be so cruel.” Lucas linked back.

Before Elizabeth could answer Emma asked “Have you told him why I need his help?”

Elizabeth looked at Emma. “Yes, I did. But I think there is more to the story than what you told me. I would like for you to tell us. When you are ready though.”

Emma nodded her head. “I should probably tell you now.” As Emma began to tell her story Elizabeth kept an eye on Lucas to make sure he had control of his wolf. The last thing Emma needed was for Lucas to shift into his wolf.

“After he was done violating me, he beat me so bad I passed out. When I came to I was in the hospital. The doctor that had helped me told me that a worker from one of the buildings had found me, and had called the cops. My attacker had left me to die in that alley. He expected me to die and not be found until morning. So when he found out I was alive he somehow found where I lived and tried to kill me again. But my father came home early and found him beating me. The man killed my father, when he tried to save me. But before he could kill me the cops showed up, the neighbors had heard me screaming and had called the cops. But I had already passed out. Later I was told that I had died on the way to the hospital, obviously they were able to revive me. Everyone had been scared thinking that they were to late and that I would really die. The man that r***d me was tall, buff with black hair and he had red eyes. I don’t know how that’s possible but he did. And he smelled like rotting flesh.” Emma finished her story.

“When did this happen?” Lucas asked Emma

“About six weeks ago. And about two days ago he left me a note at my house saying if I tell anyone he will kill me and everyone I love.” Emma said.

Elizabeth looked at her brother. He looked like he wanted to rip someone’s head off. “Why don’t you go take a walk to calm yourself.” Elizabeth told Lucas.

“Fine!” Lucas turned and left the room.

Elizabeth turned back to Emma. “He will be back. He just hates seeing and hearing about a man taking advantage of women.”

Emma just nodded her head. She didn’t understand how a man who she just met could get so worked up about something that happened to her. She normally didn’t interact with men, for some reason they scared her. As Elizabeth watched Emma she could see her relax when Lucas had left the room.

“You don’t need to be scared my brother. He would never hurt a woman in any way.”

This seemed to calm Emma a little bit. “ It’s just hard for me to trust a man right now.” Emma states as Lucas comes back, Wolf following behind him.

Wolf

When Lucas got the call from his sister, Wolf knew something was wrong. Elizabeth wouldn’t have called if it wasn’t important not after what happened this morning.

*flashback*

As Wolf was walking down to the kitchen he could here people yelling. By the sound of their voices he knew who it was. Lucas had pissed Elizabeth off again. When he entered the kitchen he knew what had happened.

“How could you Lucas, he was my boyfriend!” Elizabeth threw an apple at Lucas.

“He wasn’t a good guy, and he was cheating on you. What did you want me to do, walk away and act like I didn’t see anything? Your my sister, it’s my job to protect you.” Lucas yelled back.

“I knew he was cheating on me and I was going to break up with him. You didn’t have to beat him up.” Infuriated Elizabeth stormed out of the kitchen. A few minutes later Wolf heard the front door slam closed.

*End of flashback*

Now Wolf stood in the hallway of the hospital, with his wolf hearing he heard the story that Emma had told. A few minutes later Lucas came storming out the the room. Wolf followed his best friend to make sure he didn’t do anything stupid. Once the got to the woods, Lucas let out a frustrated howl and proceeded to punch and kick a tree. After a while he stopped.

“Feel any better?” Wolf asked.

“No not really, but I am calm enough to go back in and see her.” Lucas replied

“She is your mate isn’t she?”

“Yes, she is. And I will do whatever it takes to make sure she is safe.”

“So will I, it is my job as your Beta to protect the Luna when you aren’t able to be with her. I will make sure nothing happens to her. One question though, how do you feel about her being pregnant with someone else’s child?” Asked Wolf.

“I love the child like it’s mine already. I won’t let anyone harm my pup.” Lucas bit back.

As they walked back to the hospital Wolf was already making a schedule in his head for the Lunas protection detail. He was only going to use people he trusted to protect the Luna and her child.

“There is a slight problem though. She is human, so we have to be careful with wolf talk and shifting around her until she knows.”

Lucas says as the neared Emma’s room. When they entered the room Emma turned to look at them. Wolf could tell that she was terrified by his appearance.

“Hello my name is Wolf, I am Lucas’s second in command. I will be helping to protect you when Lucas is unavailable”

This calmed Emma a little bit. Turning to Lucas Wolf could tell he was already in love with her.

“We are going to head out. Is there anywhere you want to go before we do?” Lucas asked Emma.

“Can we stop at my house please? There are somethings I need to get.”

“Of course. Just give me the address when we get to the car.” Lucas replied

They walked down the hallway with Emma in between Lucas and Wolf. Wolf could tell this made her very uncomfortable so he put some distance between the two of them to make her feel more comfortable.

When they got to the car Wolf noticed a man hiding in the woods a good distance away. He mind linked Lucas to let him know. They quickly got Emma in the car and drove her home.

When they got to her home Wolf thought maybe it had been nothing but once they got inside he knew he was wrong. The place had been completely trashed. Furniture was shredded, books were thrown about the room, lamps were toppled over. The further they moved into the house the more damage there was. There were broken dishes all over the kitchen, and Emma’s bedroom looked like a tornado had gone through it. Her clothes were all over the room shredded to pieces her walls had nasty claw marks. And all her picture frames had been smashed.

Wolf let out a growl. Emma turned to look at him in surprise, but he just ignored her. The stench of rogue was everywhere in her room. The man had come back looking for her and wasn’t happy that she hadn’t been home.

Emma

Standing in her room Emma felt broken. Her entire life was in ruins. She wasn’t going to cry she couldn’t, she had to be strong. But the moment she saw the shattered picture of her father she couldn’t hold the tears back anymore. She fell to the ground sobbing and clutching the picture to her chest.

She felt a tingling feeling on her right shoulder. Looking up she saw it was Lucas, jumping up she wrapped her arms around him. Startling him.

“He did this didn’t he?” She sobbed “The man that rapped me and killed my father?”

“Yes, I think so.” Lucas whispered in her ear. “Tell me what you need and Wolf and I will get it for you.” Lucas gently say her down on the bed.

“I just need my computer, chargers, and the pictures that are here in my room. There should be a necklace on my dresser. It’s the only thing I have left of my parents.”

Lucas and Wolf went around the house collecting the items she told them to get. As they were doing so, Emma sat on her bed looking at the photo of her father. He was in his military uniform holding a 5 year old Emma in his arms.

Emma was jerked from her thoughts by a loud crashing sound. The sounds of a fight was coming from the living room. Emma jumped up and opened her bedroom door to run right into Wolf’s back. He turned a little to look at her.

“Stay in your room, where you will be safe. Don’t come out until Lucas or I tell you.” Wolf ordered.

Emma was about to make a snarky comment when she noticed a giant wolf in her house. Confused she asked “ Where did the wolf come from?”

Wolf closed the door in her face without answering. Leaving Emma to listen to the growls and snarls through her bedroom door.

Growing up as a child her father always told her stories about werewolves, witches and vampires. But she always just thought they were made up stories until she saw the wolf in her living room. Somehow she knew that all the stories were true.

A few minutes later the fighting stopped. Lucas opened the door, seeing him Emma jumped and hugged him again. After a minute she pulled away from him.

“Are you a werewolf?”

The question shocked Lucas. “Yes, I am. I am the Alpha of Moon Stone pack.” He watched Emma closely, she surprised him by nodding her head.

“How do you know about werewolves?” Lucas asked confused.

“My father always told me stories about werewolves and witches. I never believed they were real until today. When I saw a wolf in the living room.” Emma answered.

“Did your father tell you about werewolves having mates?” Lucas asked.

“Yes. He did. My father told me that a werewolf is given a mate when they turn 18 by the moon goddess. Some are so cruel though that they would reject their mate and take a chosen one.”

Lucas was confused on how her father would know so much about werewolves, unless he was one.

“Emma do you know if your father was a werewolf, or your mother? Normally humans aren’t told about werewolves unless they were mated to one.”

Emma thought back to her childhood. She remembered at times when her father would act weird running out of the house late at night whenever he got angry leaving her mother to take care of her.

“I think my father was a werewolf.” She exclaimed.

Lucas turned to look at Wolf who was still standing in the door way.

“What?” Emma asked

“Emma there is something I need to tell you, and since you know about mates and werewolves this makes things easier for me.” Lucas looked at Emma “Emma you are my mate. But I promise you here and now, I will never force you to do anything unless it involves you safety. And I promise you here in now I will always protect you and your children. Even if you reject me, I will never love anyone ever again.”

Emma was shocked, she never expected to be mated to a werewolf let alone an Alpha. “How could you love me when we just met, and and I won’t reject you. I am just not ready to be in any kind of relationship right now.”

“Werewolves have a bond with their mate that grows over time. We fall in love with our mates the moment we meet them. When I met you at the hospital I knew you were my mate. There is a scent that a mate has that helps them find each other. You smell like strawberries and vanilla, and only I can smell it.” Lucas explained. “I will tell you more, but right now we need to go. Marcus is looking for you and wants you for himself. I need to get you back to my pack.”

Emma nodded her head. Wolf grabbed the bags they packed and walked them out of her house. Lucas shielded her from the body in the middle of her living room.

Once they were on there way Emma heard Wolf let out a sigh of relief.

“Are you ok?” Emma asked

“I am ok. Just glad to be going home.” Wolf replied.
