Chapter 4

Wolf

As I made my way to the kitchen for breakfast I heard at shriek, seconds later Emma came racing down the stairs. Terrified I started to run after her, then Lucas raced after me.

“Emma get back here!” He yelled

Wolf stopped running after Emma, growling he walked into the kitchen.

Elizabeth looked up from making eggs. “What’s with you?” She asked Wolf.

“I just saw Emma running down to the kitchen with Lucas following her. It scared the crap out of me though, cause I didn’t see him at first. I thought she was in trouble.”

Elizabeth went back to making scrambled eggs laughing at him. Wolf gave her a dirty look, just as Emma and Lucas entered the kitchen from the back door. Wolf gave them both an annoyed look and went back to watching Elizabeth cook.

“ Whats wrong Wolf?” Emma asked

“You scared the crap out of him when you ran passed him just now.” Elizabeth answered.

Wolf glared at her. “I thought you were in trouble.” He stated

Emma giggled. “Technically I was in trouble. Just with my mate though.”

“What did you do?”

“She started to make a move on me then ran away when things started to get steamy.” Lucas growled.

At this Wolf, and Elizabeth burst out laughing. Just then Luna Claire walked into the kitchen. She stood in the door way taking in the scene.

“What’s so funny?” She asked.

Immediately Lucas blurted “Nothing Mother.”

This caused Wolf and Elizabeth to laugh harder. Emma started laughing at the look on Lucas’s face. He turned to glare at her. Before she could react her pulled her to him and kissed her hard. Forgetting they had an audience they began to get handsy.

“Good god, breath you two.” Wolf said clearing his throat.

Lucas growled at him, if looks could kill Wolf would be dead right now. Lucas was giving him a nasty glare, while Emma just giggled. Smiling at Lucas she pat his arm and sat next to Wolf.

“So what’s for breakfast? I am starving!” She exclaimed.

Wolf glanced at Lucas, “Elizabeth is making scrambled eggs, with bacon and pancakes.”

Mind linking Lucas he asked, “What should we do about the rogues that were found on our territory yesterday?”

“They are just kids. We should let them join the pack, but only after we talk to them. They are to young to be interrogated like adult rogues.” Lucas linked back. “I will talk to Emma about this after breakfast. Just make sure you have someone bring them food and water.”

Wolf nodded his head. He turned to ask Emma something but found her staring at him.

“What?” He asked.

“I asked you if you wanted maple syrup or blueberry syrup but you didn’t answer. Then I noticed your eyes looked foggy, why was that?” She asked.

“I was mind linking with Lucas. I was basically talking to Lucas in my head.” Wolf answered.

Emma nodded her head. It was still confusing to her, but she knew she would get used to being a wolf. The only thing that she was scared about was if he would be ok with raising another persons child.

“It’s going to be ok.” Aria said. “Lucas will help us protect the pup, he loves it already.”

“How can you be sure?”

“Because I see the way he looks at your stomach. He always has a look of love and happiness. To him the child is his, not some other mans.” Aria explained.

“If your sure.” Emma told her

“If you don’t believe me just ask him. He loves you, and is angry that you were raped.” Aria stated.

Emma realized that everyone was quite. She looked around to see everyone staring at her.

“What?” She asked.

Lucas started laughing, “I was wondering if you wanted to go shopping?”

Emma blushed, “Sure sounds like fun.”

When Lucas asked her to go shopping he could tell she was talking to her wolf. He could tell from her facial expression that they were probably talking about him.

“Emma, I want you to know that I will always protect you and our child. I promise nothing will happen to either of you. I love you both.” Lucas whispered.

Emma started to cry, Lucas pulled her to him and wrapped her in his arms. As she cried he rubbed her back whispering soothing words in her ear. After a minute Emma calmed down.

Lucas let her go so she could compose herself. She looked up at him and smiled.

“Thank you for saying that Lucas. I have been so worried and afraid that you wouldn’t except me and the baby, since it’s not actually your child. But hearing you say that has lifted a huge wait off of my shoulders. I know we just met, but I love you too. You have shown me so much kindness and love since I got here. So thank you.” Emma said

Lucas smiled down at her, he leaned down and gave her a kiss.

“Your welcome my love. I will tell you every day how much I love you. Now let’s go shopping, everyone is waiting for us.”

As they walked hand in hand outside they met up with Elizabeth and Wolf. When the pair saw them holding hands they both smiled.

“Took you two long enough.” Elizabeth smirked.

Lucas just smiled as they got into Wolf’s SUV and they headed to the mall. Lucas watched Emma as the drove through the forest. She looked so peaceful, he was very happy that she was excepting him as her mate. He knew that he still had to take things slow after what happened to her, but he was willing to wait.

Emma turned to look at him. “What?”

“Nothing you just look so beautiful and peaceful. I couldn’t help but watch you.” Lucas answered.

Emma just smiled. Wolf snorted from the drivers seat. Lucas glared at him.

“You got a problem Wolf?” Lucas growled

Smiling Wolf glanced at them from the rear view mirror.

“No Alpha, just never heard you say anything like that before.”

“That’s because only my mate ever deserved to hear it from me. If you find your mate she might not be happy with you being such a playboy.” Lucas snapped “And stop with the Alpha thing.”

Wolf just grinned, “Yeah your right.”

When they got to the mall, Emma couldn’t believe the size of it. It looked like the size of a football field.

“This is one of the malls the pack owns.” Elizabeth stated.

Emma was speechless, as they made there way inside all she could do was gawk.

“It’s so big!” Emma exclaimed

Elizabeth just laughed, “You will get used to it.”

The first store they went to was rue 21, Elizabeth helped Emma pick out some cute shirts, jeans, shorts, and a couple of dresses.

They continued shopping buying everything that Emma would need. As they were walking to the food court, Emma stopped walking. Lucas turned to look at her, her face was pail and she was staring at someone in front of them.

Lucas looked in the direction she was staring and growled.

Elizabeth and Wolf sensed his anger and headed back to them.

“What is it Alpha?” Wolf asked

“Marcus was just hear. Get Emma back to the pack house, and make sure she is safe. Elizabeth go with them, I am going to see if I can find him.”

Emma was still standing there, so Elizabeth had to guid her out of the mall. Everyone they passed kept giving Emma weird looks. Wolf had enough.

“Everyone mind your own business!” He bellowed.

At once everyone stopped staring at Emma and went about their own business. When they got to the car Emma had recovered a little bit from the shock. Lucas sprinted towards them, he looked furious.

“I couldn’t find him anywhere. Let’s get back to the pack. I will feel better once she is safe.” He growled

Lucas jumped in the back with Emma and held her tight. The drive back to the pack house was silent and tense, Emma could feel Lucas’s anger coming off him in waves.

“Lucas, calm down. I am still with you.” She whispered.

Lucas glanced down at her and just squeezed her tighter. No one said a word until they got back to the house. As they piled out of the car Luna Claire came running out of the house. She tackled Emma in a hug.

“Thank goodness you are ok.” She cried.

“I am ok, Lucas made sure of that. Now I am just terrified.” Emma reassured her.

Claire let go of Emma giving her a peck on the cheek. “Elizabeth why don’t we help Emma get her stuff to her room. We could use a girls night.”

She turned to Lucas as Elizabeth and Emma started unloading the car.

“Find that bastard Lucas, I hate seeing my girl looking so petrified. Find him and end him.” Claire mind linked.

“Yes mother.” Lucas was surprised. She was the type of person who hated violence. So for her to tell her own son to kill someone was shocking to him. “I will make sure I end his reign of terror forever.”

Claire nodded her head to her son and went to help Elizabeth and Emma with the shopping bags. Lucas then turned to Wolf, the two then headed to his office.
