Chapter 11Adrian Every morning at drop off I watch Ms. Evans’ feet. The hallway is always crowded and noisy then, but eventually I catch sufficient glimpses to confirm my suspicions that Ms. Evans, just like her niece, is walking on air. I wonder if this is something I could talk about with Nikos. He doesn’t strike me as someone who’d think me mental if I told him about floating people, and he bought into my childhood faerie tale memories alright—he even told me one himself. But still. I’d rather not risk it. I’m damaged goods enough as I am with my scattered brain. I don’t want to put “probably insane” on the list of my deficiencies. Are there more people out there who can float?
