I tell Lili I’ll give her two minutes in there to show her favourite teacher her new wings. But I know she’ll just keep talking, and I don’t want her to impose (he must be tired after a long school day), so I open the door after what I feel is plenty of time for show-and-tell.
I’m mid-rant to Mr Sweetums, apologizing for Lili’s enthusiasm, before my brain catches up with my mouth. Stepping into the room, I just notice someone sitting next to Mr Sweetums, his partner I assume from their closeness. It’s with a bit of a delay that I finally recognize him.
