Someone coughed behind me and I turned around to face this girl's momma.
" Lucy don't be rude" she chastised and Lucy stared at her for few seconds before she finally replied pouting.
....oh Lucy, that's her name...
" Yes, mum" Lucy replied obviously annoyed.
She looked like she was about to say something else when her mum gave her 'The look' damn,.....the look Mums give to get you to stop something, pretty much a half glare and a half frown.
Lucy's mother had twinkling blue eyes, shoulder-length brown hair and I'm sure she was probably 5 foot and few inches tall. She wouldn't weigh much but she wasn't tiny either.
She was still in her pajamas { which I found rather amusing} and she wore comfy flip-flops.
Ok, when the agency said they wanted a new look, they meant it.
She wasn't 'model-worthy there's nothing glam { not saying she's ugly} about her at all, she's just cuter than she is pretty.
" I'll take care of this," she said gesturing around to the mess created by her dogs and puppy.
I ignored her and walked into my room, shutting the door behind me. Wincing, when I saw Hannah's lipgloss on the dresser.
" Why is this still here ?" I asked myself.
It's time to let go of this junk I said aloud.
I found a box at the corner of the room and threw{ yes threw} all of Hannah's stuff into the box, there wasn't much though but it was worth it, and it helped to reduce some level of anger I felt inside of me.
I pretty much hate her now, you know, it's funny how you can easily hate someone you once loved.
There's a thin line between love and hate and once you cross that line, there's no going back.
Hannah had been my girlfriend for 10 years.
Suddenly, she picks up and leaves just like that, this s**t ain't fair.
I need to forget about her, just like Sam said, I'm a grown man.... right?
Oh... Yes I know what to do... I'll redecorate..... Change everything.
Deciding to paint my room and change the furniture. I ran a mental list of the possibles people I could call to offer their services.
"Stop talking to yourself " my subconscious mind stated.
" Great, so now my subconscious mind corrects me" I bluntly stated furrowing my brows.
Ok....so back to redecorating, what color should I paint it exactly?
White seems befitting and I can move the dresser, rearrange the wardrobe, and get rid of the memories.
Time ticked by quickly and I didn't even realize it was time for lunch until my stomach started growling.
Yeah right .....I didn't have breakfast. Apparently, weird is my new normal.
I quietly opened the door, and glanced around, it felt sneaky but I just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to be attacked by a child.
Yup...no child. Thank goodness, but there was a dog.
Juveta sat in the corner sulking, she looked so sad, probably because her babies were no longer here.
" Tough life hey " I called out
She raised her head to look at me before sulking again.
" Oh, c'monon Juveta" that was just it. I threw my head back and laughed out loud. I was talking to a dog, one named Juveta, Juveta, Juveta I repeated in my head three times.
This name is so ridiculous.
Juveta suddenly glanced at me and barked, she looked like she was ready to pounce on me any minute now.
I took quick retreating steps as I saw her slowly stand and walk ever so calmly towards me.
I gaped at the dog with a focus
" No " I yelled as it attacked me
I quickly ran into my bedroom and slammed the door behind me and leaned on it as I tried to catch my breath.
" Yup, weird is definitely my new normal," I said still panting.
The creature was at the other side of the door, barking loudly.
" Oh, c'mon you can't be upset. What did I do wrong?" I asked
The intense barking stopped for a few seconds and then it continued.
" Let's negotiate, I'm hungry," I said
She continued barking not willing to cave.
" How about I give you doggy treats and you'll nicely allow me to eat and return to my room. How about that?"
Nope.....still barking.
" Ok,ummmm nice toys and a walk every day for the next two weeks. it's not easy to get me to walk any dog you know, I'm a celebrity but here I am voluntarily saying I'll walk you. You better take this offer" I said, I was crossing my fingers hoping she'll back down.
I was getting really hungry, but no the dog still didn't want to stop barking.
I was very sure it was stationed directly behind the door ready to fight as soon as I got out, there's no way I'll give it that satisfaction.
" Ok fine, Juveta I'm sorry, can I come out now? " She still didn't stop, did she detect the sarcasm or is this dog a mind reader? I asked inwardly.
" To be honest, I liked you better when you were sulking. Besides, aren't you supposed to be recuperating after giving birth or something ? " she still continued barking. This routine became tiresome.
" Ok fine, Dear Juveta please leave me alone, I'm sorry for anything I did that annoyed you, I'm really hungry and I'm sure I'll die from hunger any time soon, so what do you say? "
Finally, the barking stopped which I took as my cue to leave the room.
I opened the door slowly, doubting I'll ever be able to open it properly again. I saw Juveta at the other side of the living room.
I took a few steps and she suddenly moved to cause me to retreat. A part of me could have sworn she smirked as if trying to tell me never to mess with her again. Or perhaps, I had started hallucinating.
These creatures are supposed to be a man's best friend but nope she attacked me instead.
I finally decided ' my life ain't normal anymore.'
