CHAPTER 61: The Nightmare Resumes
“Selene!”
The shout tore through the darkness as loud as it could be.
Selene jerked upright in bed with her heart pounding wildly and her breath coming in quick and sharp pulls. For a moment she didn’t know where she was. Her eyes darted around the dim room with her hands trembling as sweat clung to her skin.
It was the nightmare again.. the same one, the same burning forests, the same cries and the same accusing voice hissing, Look what you’ve done.
She pressed her palms to her face, dragging them down slowly.
“Not again,” she whispered shakily.
