CHAPTER 21:
A soft knock echoed against the wooden door of the study.
“Come in,” Soren’s voice came, calmly but heavily.
Selene pushed the door open slowly and Soren stood by the tall window with his hands clasped behind his back staring out at the grey skies that hung low over Crestwood.
She hesitated for a second and then stepped inside.
“You sent for me?”
Soren turned slightly with his expression betraying nothing.
“I did. How are you feeling?”
“Fine,” Selene said quickly, crossing her arms. “Though I can’t say the same for my peace of mind.”
