Selene’s heart dropped the moment the servant said those words.. “From the Alpha King.”
For a few seconds, she just stood there staring at the letter in Soren’s hands and that red wax seal burned into her eyes like a warning. Her chest tightened and she forced herself to breathe.
Caelen again..! Of course it had to be him.
The servant bowed low, placing the letter carefully in Soren’s palm.
“It arrived not long ago, Alpha. The raven came straight from the northern tower.”
“Thank you,” Soren said with his tone steady.
The servant bowed again and left with his footsteps fading down the path until silence settled over the training field.
