The courtyard went dead silent.. not a sound and not a whisper was heard.
Every guard, every servant and even the birds above seemed frozen mid-flight. No one had ever seen anything like it.. a woman striking the Alpha King himself. It was unthinkable.. death-worthy yet there she stood.. Selene.. calm and unbothered with her hand still tingling from the force of the blow.
Beta Andrew’s mouth fell open, Captain Danish’s hand twitched toward his sword and the king's guards, still stunned, finally snapped out of their trance. They surged forward as one, their hands on their hilts, ready to protect their king and punish whoever dared touch him.
