CHAPTER 27: Murderers Amongst Them
Selene’s heartbeat thundered in her ears. The noise of the council hall faded,
and all she could see was that face. That cursed filthy face from her nightmares. The man was alive... standing there among the crowd as if he hadn’t once tried to tear her life apart. Her chest tightened and for a moment the hall spun around her.
He was older now and rougher too but she would never forget that scar running from his temple to his jaw. The same scar she’d scratched into his skin that night while he pinned her down to rape her. Her stomach twisted as rage burned hot behind her eyes.
He was talking quietly to another Alpha pretending to be just another loyal Beta but she knew better. He was one of them.. one of the monsters who’d attacked her convoy the night
