I had thought about going all out, taking my little mate to one of the best restaurants in the city, and not trying to save any money, but then I thought about who my mate was, and I knew she would feel out of place. She would probably not even dare to step foot inside the restaurant and just freeze in the doorway before she took off. I could already imagine it, and it made me chuckle a little.
Instead, I had planned something more intimate. Something for just the two of us. I asked my chauffeur to pick up Calliope. I wanted this to be sweet, and I wanted to show her how well I could take care of her. I didn’t want her to have any doubts about me.
