Chapter 7 - Omes' Thoughts

Eva is someone who truly enjoys lounging in bed. In fact, even after waking up, she sometimes finds it difficult to get up because she's so comfortable under the covers that she doesn't want to move. However, over the past few years, she has gradually improved her lifestyle.

Besides focusing more on her diet, Eva also made it a habit to wake up early and start jogging around her neighborhood. Although it was tough at first, she has now gotten used to it. Moreover, the cool and fresh air is one of the reasons Eva enjoys jogging early in the morning.

Like now, Eva is wearing her workout outfit and starts running along her jogging route. Her earbuds are already playing music from her shuffled playlist.

When running like this, Eva sometimes feels nostalgic about her past visits to this area. So, after divorcing Ardi, Eva didn't immediately come back here.

Yes, previously, Eva spent her time doing various activities that kept her busy so she wouldn't have time to think about Ardi. From taking cooking classes, makeup courses, learning to sew with a machine, to vocal and piano lessons, and joining dance communities from traditional to modern—ah, there were many positive activities Eva engaged in to move on.

Until finally, feeling much better, Eva decided to return to the area where she spent her childhood. Moreover, she received news that Nafa was about to give birth.

Nafa indeed married Dika before Eva married Ardi. That's why, when someone proposed to Eva back then, her mother urged her to accept and follow Nafa's path to becoming a wife.

However, Eva chose to marry Ardi, who was only pretending. Eva couldn't imagine if, six years ago, she had agreed to marry the man who proposed to her at home... She probably wouldn't be running alone this morning because she'd be busy taking care of children and a husband.

"Out for a morning run, Ev?" greeted the women gathered around the vegetable vendor, who was selling his goods using a cart.

"Yes, ma'am. Happy cooking, ladies," replied Eva just as warmly. Eva then ran past her office, which was, of course, still quiet.

During her college years in the big city, even in her final year when she was a contract wife to Ardi, Eva once thought that life in the village was boring, especially since it was far if you wanted to go anywhere.

However, after deciding to settle back here, Eva finds that life in the village isn't so bad. Eva can adapt and enjoy her days up to this moment.

After all, this is the place where I spent my childhood. It's not surprising that I'm comfortable here….

Additionally, living here is much more economical compared to living in a big city. This is what has kept Eva working as an administrative staff member at Savanna for several years now. Even though there's no promising career path, her office isn't in a tall building. She's so comfortable that she doesn't mind working at Savanna until retirement age.

Ardi was the first to arrive when the office was still silent. It seemed the staff were still asleep in their rooms, considering it was still too early. The AC in the staff room hadn't even been turned on yet, as no one had arrived.

Ardi deliberately came early because it was his first day at work. He wanted his first day to mark an extraordinary beginning. Besides, the main reason was that Ardi wanted to see the staff data. Ah, more precisely, Eva's data, which had made him curious all night to the point of having trouble sleeping.

Ardi pushed back his chair, took his cup of coffee, and stood by the window to take in the morning scene outside. His office was indeed on the second floor.
