By the time I was up and moving the next morning, Boone had already left for the village, so I didn’t get a chance to ask him about his strange queries the night before. My curiosity would just have to go on hold until this evening when he came back. In the meantime, it seemed like I had a whole day to myself, which was kind of amazing. I wandered down to the kitchen and found Beattie there, toast and coffee on the counter and a mischievous smile on her lips. “Want to go shopping?” I loved going shopping, when necessary, with Beattie.
