Alex's eyes locked onto the shadowy figure, their mind racing with questions. "Who are you?" Alex asked, their voice firm but controlled.
The figure smiled, and Alex saw a glimmer of amusement in their eyes. "I'm someone who has been watching you, Alex," they replied. "Someone who has been guiding you towards the truth."
Alex's eyes narrowed. They knew that they had to be careful, that they couldn't trust anyone. "Why?" Alex asked, their voice sharp.
The figure leaned forward, their eyes glinting in the dim light. "Because I believe in you, Alex," they said. "I believe that you have the potential to uncover the truth, to bring justice to those who have been wronged."
