Elara's Pov
The forest opened into a small clearing bathed in silver moonlight. I collapsed onto the soft grass, my breath coming in short, ragged bursts. My heart still throbbed where the mate bond had been, but now the cold emptiness was mixed with something else.
Power.
It started as a faint flicker in my chest, then surged through my limbs, filling me with warmth, energy, and something… fierce. I gasped, staring at my hands as a faint glow seemed to shimmer over my skin.
“What… what’s happening to me?” I whispered, my voice trembling.
Images flashed in my mind: a white wolf standing proudly under a full moon, ancient forests, battles I had never fought, and a crown of silver light hovering over a figure who looked strangely like me.
I sat up, my pulse racing. This power… it’s mine. It’s always been mine.
A sudden movement caught my eye. A figure stepped from the shadows—tall, cloaked in dark fabric, face hidden.
“You are awake,” the figure said softly. “I wondered how long it would take for you to realize who you are.”
“Who… I am?” I asked, fear and curiosity intertwining in my chest.
“You are more than a weak omega,” the figure said. “You are the last of the Luna line. The power inside you has been dormant… until now.”
I stared at the figure, trying to make sense of the words. My body tingled with energy, my heartbeat synced with the pulsing glow in my chest.
“You were rejected,” the figure continued, “but that was a test. Your mate… he doesn’t understand. He cannot see your strength yet. But you will. And when you do… the world will remember your name.”
I swallowed hard. Part of me wanted to run, to scream, to fall to my knees. But another part—the part I had never known—rose inside me. I am not weak.
“I… I will be strong,” I whispered. “I will never be weak again.”
The figure nodded. “Good. Begin your journey. Learn control. Learn power. And remember: some wounds create the strongest warriors.”
The figure stepped back into the shadows and vanished.
I was alone again—but not the same. A fire burned inside me. A promise. A destiny.
And somewhere far away, Alpha Kael would soon realize the mistake he had made.
