Alex’s POV
After lunch, I took Zoe around to see the Elders building, the park, school, daycare and the two coffee shops. She made a disgusted face each time we passed a coffee shop and I had to laugh at her each time. I showed her the bookstore and she stopped to stare into the shop window at all of the items.
I dropped her hand and she immediately looked away from the window and at me. I opened the door to the shop and motioned for her to go on in. She smiled brightly at me. I was learning that she loved books and might possibly be a bit of a nerd herself. That I could live with.
We looked through the shelves for a long time before she pulled a book and read the back of it. She went to put it back and I grabbed it from her hand.
“If you want this I’ll get it for you,”
