Knight’s eyes scanned the landscape, a blend of steel, glass, and concrete that sprawled far below him. His instincts stirred. The blood inside him, tainted by centuries of vampiric existence, coursed with an unnatural energy. His breath was steady as he crouched on the edge of a rooftop, balancing between the pull of the city and the wild darkness that hummed within him.
