Intense Connection

Gabriel Clarks When I saw her, I felt it—the strong, undeniable bond I couldn't understand; my heart wanted more; I felt my body crave her touch; I felt my protective instincts kick in when I noticed she was so close to the bloodsucker; it rilled me up. "Here is she," he said, bringing me out of my deep gaze. "Yes, Lucian, bring the documents and the cheque," I said so loudly so he could hear me. I want to taint the bloodsucker image, so he shouldn't be deceived by his looks. I can't believe I am acting this childish, but at this moment, I don't give a f**k. When Lucian brought the stack of documents, I shoved it at his face and said, "Here are the documents and your cheque; I don't want to see your dirty ass ever again." I noticed the hurt in her eyes as she stared at the bloodsucker. She shook her head vehemently; it was clear she felt betrayed. The look on her face gave me an unknown satisfaction. I must admit the silver wolf is quite a beauty; her silver eyes made her glisten, matching her long brown curls; her feminine and slender figure made her quite irresistible; and her plumb lips made me have the strong urge to kiss her. I saw the pain in her eyes as she stared at him as he left. She held his hand while staring at him with so many emotions. "Please don't leave me," For the first time, I saw emotions in the eyes of a bloodsucker. It was something I have never seen; they always act so stoic and cold that you can barely see through them. He wrapped his hand around her and said, "I'll come for you." He said it incoherently, but I still heard him. While looking at the scene that unfolded right in front of me, I clenched my fist tightly. I didn't show emotions, but God, I'm losing it. The hug lingered longer than usual; I had to say something. "You should be going bloodsucker." I sounded angry, despite trying not to yell at him. From the look on his face, it was clear that he was angry, but he said nothing. When he was gone, I told Lucian to prepare a room for her—the best rooms I am still surprised at myself because I have never treated a prisoner like the way I just did to this lady right in front of me, or, should I say, a rare breed of silver wolf. Lucian escorted her to the room, where she stayed for hours without bothering to come out. I was pacing back and forth at the front door; I don't know what was happening, but deep inside, I felt it. I wished to talk to her and see her at least one more time. After what seemed like ages, I decided I just had to check on her myself. I opened the door, and when I noticed she was on the bed, she was sobbing, her eyes were blotchy, her hair was a bit disheveled, and her skin was pale. She looked so weak. "What's wrong?" I asked her tenderly, which was something I had never done. I'm still unable to comprehend how I find myself so attracted to her, like a moth attracted to light. "Are you okay?" I asked her again. "Let me go. You have what you wanted, so what else do you want from me?" Her words stung me like a lightning bolt. "Why would you say that?" I asked with so much pain in my voice. She looked up at me; it was clear from her eyes that she was scared. She hates to admit it, but I know it. I leaned closer to her, but she vehemently moved back, more like she was scared. I don't want her to be scared of me. "What do you want from me?" she asked. "I... I..." I can't believe I am stuttering, the alpha king, that I am, never stutters, but I'm stuttering in front of a prisoner. "You what?" "Never mind, what would you like to eat?" I asked her, and she stared at me, perplexed. "Now I'm confused, are you not the same alpha king of Athena that rumors said you are cruel, harsh, intimating, and someone whom people couldn't mess with and go Scot-free?" she asked. I never knew that rumors had said so much about me. "Yes, I am the one." "Then what's the difference now?" she asked indifferently. I immediately stood up because I didn't want to show emotions in front of her; I was about to leave, but rather she held my hand, and that was when, I felt the spark of electricity, the warmth of a destined woman, and the clarity that she was mine. "Mine!" my wolf growled. I noticed the shock that registered on her face; I knew she also felt it—the undeniable connection of two souls fated for each other. I immediately leaned closer to her and asked, "Why does it have to be you?" I asked her. "I can't... I can't tell what's happening right now." she stuttered. Without warning, I hugged her, bringing her close to me. I was looking at her intently in the eyes. "Everything is going to be fine." "No, something is not just right," she bellowed in pain. I slide my hand around her cheeks; the strong urge to kiss her was there; the urge to sink my fangs into her flesh and declare to my kingdom that I have found my mate was there; but I couldn't satisfy those urges. 'She's mine alone.' My wolf growled possessively. Her eyes glistened with hot tears; she looked so terrified, so I settled on hugging her. She didn't hug me back; her strong scent of jasmine and coffee stroked her skin. I didn''t know when we both slept together on the same bed. I woke up feeling happy and fulfilled. It felt like the happiest day of my life—the day I found my missing half, my destined mate. "My lord, my lord, Rhain Morgans has arrived," Lucian said at the door.
